Female: Vertical strokes pack a lot of punch in the room; they quickly create in illusion of
death and airiness. A handy trick personal room, then with and color of the stripes
can combine for results that are sophisticated and slit to casual and relax.
Complementing any decorating style, the success of stripes is in the Tripler.
Before you even consider pink colors you could study your room.
Male: Sketch your room on some graph paper to help you visualize the pattern. Measure
the width to be visual and find the number to divides evenly into the wall
measurements if you wan to design to be of equal sides. This ensures the pattern
won’t result into joining sections of the same color to leave a little left over half
stripe. Don’t be afraid to let the pattern flow around the corner.
Female: Next create a sample board with the design around the scale and painted to the
actual solid color. This way you can determine if you like the results before
putting your time and energy into this project.
Male: We’ve already determine that you will need a measuring tape, a pencil and graph
paper to get started. Here is your shopping list to complete the project, cucumber
crust to set in finish latex paint, rock with jade set and finish latex paint, drop
cloth, paint tray, standard ruler frame with 9 inches ruler cover, 2 inches trim
brush, level with printed ruler, step ladder, mini ruler frame with four inches ruler
cover, stair sticks, two inches low tape painters tape, green colored pencil and a
paint coat.
Female: For this project we are going to use five inches stripes, you want to begin your
stripes measurement at the top of the wall and horizontally mark every five inches
with the colored pencil. Start your measurements in the left scene corner and
continue around the room, allow the stripe to fold around the corner or adjust your
measurements as necessary to end stripe in the corner. Continue the pattern
making certain that you end with your appropriate colored stripe. Repeat these
five inches marks at various heights on the wall including the one that is close to
the baseboard, this will be your guidelines for your vertical lines. Next, you draw
vertical stripes with the help of either a traditional level or a laser laver. For as
little as $20 you can purchase a handy little laser level that will attach to the wall
with the small sanction cup and shoot a beam of light along the wall surface, it
eliminates the need to measure and mark with the ruler in a carpenters level. To
create your vertical stripe lines choose a pencil that closely matches the wall color
and follow your laser beam. Next you mask your stripes using the glue tuck
painters tape, starting at the top of the wall and following along the outside edges
of your stripe marks, press down firmly on the inner edges of the tape. Once the
tape is up, it will appears if you have two width of stripes, just remember if the
wider stripe that you will be painting. Using your painters tape, place a small X in
each smaller stripe as a little reminder so you won’t begin in there. Be sure to lift
the excess as soon as you’re done so they don’t let any paint from your basecoat.
The first thing you will paint with your mini ruler on your newly prep stripes is a
second coat of the cucumber crush base. This is a trick that keeps the rock with
jade paint from bleeding underneath the tape, its a little extra effort but it will save
you a lot of time in touch ups after that second coat of base is dry. You can begin
the first coat of rock with jade latex paint using a mini ruler. After the first coat
dries apply a second coat of necessary, continue painting stripes until the entire
room is completed.
