Danny Grady: Let's try A minor. A minor is a little bit simpler than G. Your fingers are in the same general area. Take your 1st finger and place it here at the 1st fret on the 2nd string. Again, very tip of your finger, just before the fret, never on the fret, thumb down, hand out, 2nd finger is going to go here on the 2nd fret of the 4th string. 3rd finger is going to go here on the 2nd fret of the 3rd string.

So, let's just pick the notes we have fretted. Pick the 4th string, let's pick the 3rd string, very tip of your 3rd finger. Those two should be easy to get and then this is the tough one; 2nd string. Now, with your 1st finger down, you want to make sure you are pressing with the very tip of your 1st finger, so that it is hooking up and over the open string in Open E.

And then you are going to add the 5th string open and strum everything on down. And I can't stay at this enough. When you are trying new chords, even if they sound a little fussy, even if sometimes you get a little buzz on that 1st string or one of the open notes is not coming out, it's very important to keep plugging away and to keep trying to get your hands in the shapes, because the 3rd or 4th time you try these shapes, it's definitely going to be easier than the 1st or 2nd time you try it. And then when you pick up the guitar the next day, it is going to be just that much easier.
