And if it's not coming to you, you might want to fine tune your placement of your finger, maybe place it a little bit behind where you are placing it or a little bit ahead. You can continuously pick and just kind of move your finger until you find your sweet spot. And just a millimeter of difference will make a difference. 12th fret may occur most naturally here at the 12th fret on the guitar. Trying on the 5th string, again I am just barely touching the string right over the fret itself and I am picking pretty hard.
At the 12th fret, the pitch is the exact same as what you have the open string tuned to. So when we did it on the 6th string it was E, when we did it on the 5th string, it's A. The 4th string 12th is D, 3rd string 12th is G, 2nd string 12th fret B and the 1st string, 12th fret is E.
Again just lightly touching with my finger and you can really use any part of your finger. And you can almost do a harmonics kind of the same way that you do bar chords.
Now these same notes occur at the 5th fret as well. The exact same pitch is the open string you'll be doing in the harmonic at the 5th fret. Those are little bit tricker to get, so I would recommend really zeroing in on the 12th fret harmonics before you attempted the 5th fret harmonics.
So let's start with the slide from the 4th fret to the 5th fret on the 2nd string. You could use your third finger, then you open 1st string and so for harmonics what you want to do is, just take your 3rd finger across the 12th fret right on top of the fret itself and you are actually not pushing the strings down.
