Danny Grady: So now that we have looked at the basic shape itself there, so I'll use my third finger there. We are going to look at some places where we could do some bends. You can bend the eight fret, hear a full step on the first string. You can bend the eight fret here on the second fret, the full step. You can band the seven fret here on the third string, a full step. And those are some of the most common areas you would do bends.
Another thing that you can do with the Pentatonic scales when you are playing through it is that you can what's called the Chromatic scales which is all of the tones. You can a chromatic run. So say I was wanting to go from here, to the this octave, this A to the octave of it, but I didn't necessarily want to go straight up the scale. I can throw in some extra notes for color as I am ascending.
So when we have got five and seven here, you can throw that note in the middle in there as long as you don't hang out on it for too long and you resolve and do the same here on the fourth string and again here on the third string. And you can also use that same chromatic technique descending. So using some of those bends.
Scotty Moore: Hi! I am Scotty Moore. She came back and handed me this paper and I looked it and I said Elvis Presley, what kind of damn name is that?
Danny Grady: Starting with the first fret across strings I want do the first fret, second finger on the fret of the third string. So that's the little part of an F chord there.
