Warm-ups session one
Tutorial: Part 6
So let's take a look at just exactly how to play this major seven arpeggio. We are going to start here with our fingers assigned to a fret. Our first finger is going to be assigned to the seventh fret; all notes on the eighth fret will be done by our second finger. The third finger is going to have the ninth fret, and the tenth fret is going to be taken care of by the pinkie.
So with that in mind let's start with the first two notes, our first finger and then our second finger here on the sixth string. Come down a string, we will do the first, and then our pinkie. Come down to the fourth string where we will do the third, then the fourth. Down to the third string, we will do our third finger. Down to the second string, we will do our second finger. Down to the first string, we will do first finger. Add our pinkie, and then end back on our first finger. So again, first to second, first to fourth, third to fourth, third, second, first, fourth, first.
Then you just slide up one fret, and we are going to descend. Now our fingers are assigned to different frets. First finger has all the eighth fret. Our second finger has all the ninth fret. Third finger has all the tenth fret, and pinkie has all the eleventh fret. So again, we will be descending first, then on the second finger just our second -- second string will be using our second finger, third string, third finger, pinkie on the fourth string, and then third finger on that same string, pinkie on the fifth string, first finger on the fifth string, second finger on the sixth string, and then first finger on the sixth string. So descending in. Then bring it up another half step, and we will ascend again.
The interim starts on the lower string and it goes like this. So then it's the B, A. See, I keep this B string ringing on the G throughout the whole thing.
