Hey! Welcome to watchmojo.com. I am your host Melissa and today I am going to give you a brief introduction to Buddhism. Now, did you know that there are over 300 million people worldwide who call themselves Buddhist? Well, the religion of Buddhism was founded by the Buddha and divided into three schools. There is Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana. And the religion emphasizes physical and spiritual discipline.
Now, the goal of a Buddhist is to attain Nirvana and this is a state in which one is free of distractions from desire and self consciousness. Now, in order to achieve state in which the Buddhist aims to end all kinds of suffering, he must change his mind to fold in Noble Eightfold Path which is actually the fourth part of the Four Noble Truth. Now, the Four Noble Truth was actually the first topic of the sermon given by the Buddha after his enlightenment.
Now, The Four Noble Truths are existence in suffering; No.2, suffering has a cause namely craving and attachment, No.3, there is a cessation of suffering known as Nirvana; and No.4, as you know, is the noble eightfold path.
