You know what I saw yesterday, I know what you saw yesterday, I know what you read, what you saw on the news. I woke up yesterday and I went to cnn.com as I always do, and I saw the story that just blew my mind and the title of the story was cholesterol drugs urged urged for kids with heart risks, alright. This is the American Academy of Pediatrics way of addressing childhood obesity and heart diseases and it is so scientifically unfounded that I can’t believe it.
And the thing that really irks me is that I saw this coming. When you get such, you start following the pharmaceutical companies, you start to see a pattern and what I saw a few months ago with the whole Zetia and Zocor study that came out that long awaited, long delayed study that came out, that said that those cholesterol lowering drugs were absolutely infective. What that did, was it made Big Pharma lose a lot of money. They lost a lot of revenue, they lost a lot of customers, the customers started to lose faith in the cholesterol lowering drugs. And so Big Pharma had to make up some money, because they don’t lose money. Alright, that’s the last thing they want to do is lose money.
And so they had to go after a brand new target audience, they needed a new fan based and so they couldn’t go after the older people because they already did that, so they have to go after the younger people and they went after your kids. And they didn’t just go after your kids, they went out to the parents because parents read that and it pumps so much fear into them that I am sure all the hospital phone lines were ringing of the hook yesterday with parents trying to book appointment for their kids that have their cholesterol tested, alright.
Because if there is one thing that the pharmaceutical companies know and the food companies know and their PR firms know is that parents for the most part and people for the most part don’t read, alright. That we believe everything that we see on TV and we are too lazy to drop our remote control and turn off the reruns of Seinfield and Friends and it turn off the next episode of Lost and Desperate Housewives or to quit down People Magazine, alright. They know that we care more about Britney Spears and Madonna than we actually care about how to feed our own children and so they can pass crap like this off to us. I mean I am looking at this article right now and they are talking about getting our children’s cholesterol tested at the age of one.
You have to realize that your child’s brain is just starting to develop, is nowhere near done and the single largest component of the brain is cholesterol, alright. Your kids need cholesterol to make their brain, to have brain development, alright. So you don’t want your kids to have low cholesterol. Cholesterol is important for hormones, alright. Now check this out, this is what they call a steroid tree and you see out here on these outer branches, these are all of our really critical sex hormones and stress hormones, you know Testosterone and Aldosterone, Progesterone, Estrogen, Estradiol, alright. All that stuff is right there on the outside of these branches. We see down here that root, you see right down there at the bottom, that’s cholesterol. So how do you would expect your child to get the puberty, your child’s most hormonal time, how the they supposed to get to that without cholesterol, the backbone of all of those hormones. This is absolutely amazing to me. They are suggesting that we start putting kids on cholesterol lowering drugs at the age of eight.
You have to realize that once you are on cholesterol lowering drugs you never get out of them, that is a life sitting or such you are giving to your child, alright. And so looking at this article come out in the American Academy of Pediatrics who release this yesterday, I am sure in concert with Big Pharma. They also recommend low fat milk for one year olds. Well saturated fat is so important to the health and development of one year olds, for kids, for children, for infants in general. Alright, you don’t want to feed a low fat milk to anyone, alright,
