Sam Auerbach: Welcome to watchmojo.com. My name is Sam. I have the pleasure of interviewing Dee, who is an internationally recognized artist in Electro-Pop scene, and he went solo in 2001, and he has been all over the world performing ever since.
We are here with lead singer of Dee.
Dee: Hi!
Sam Auerbach: Welcome.
Dee: Welcome. Thanks, thanks for having us
Sam Auerbach: What influence you in your songs, in electro-pop that's kind of new in?
Dee: I think the biggest influence is Beck, not music wise, but it's the fact that he can do -- he does everything, like he will do like a -- he straight up ballets album with strings and guitars, and then another album with full samples. So I think he is just -- it's like newly, he plays guitar whatever he wants, and all the fans like it all the time.
Sam Auerbach: And you have been compared to the Pet Shop Boys, I like that. So you think you are a pioneer?
Dee: I think I am a pioneer? No. no, no. I think I know a lot of pioneers, and that's why I can manage to pull it off doing like a pop electro show and then -- the important thing is that it's hard to categorize, if you are enjoying it, you don't tend to think about it, and I think that's the most important part.
Sam Auerbach: And last thing, what you hate most about the music industry?
Dee: I think things I hate most tend to be good to be me at the end, like an over saturated radio, with all the same songs all the time, see that, I used to be annoyed, but now I like it, because that's why people go to MySpace and YouTubes to find the other source, and I guess like Mojo --
Sam Auerbach: Yeah.
Dee: So the things I hate, kind of like now.
Sam Auerbach: And lastly, you could say one thing to your fans, what it would be, one massage, inspiration?
Dee: One word? "Dance" - "Dance"
Sam Auerbach: There you have it.
