Kool DJ Herc, aka Clive Campbell is a Jamaican-American Musician and producer who is often accredited as being one of the pioneers of hip-hop in the 1970s. He is the originator of a DJing style called Breakbeat DJing where breaks and funks songs often the danceable parts containing percussions were isolated and repeated for the purpose of all night dance parties. Later on DJ such as Grandmaster Flash refined this style and added another sound called "cutting".
