Learn about Dental Cosmetic Procedures

Hi! My name is Dr. Gordon Rye. I am a dentist in Fairfax, Virginia. We are talking about teeth whitening. And with this clip we are going to discuss cosmetic procedures other than bleaching to whiten teeth.

Occasionally, there are situations where bleaching alone will not solve the problem. In such situations we often use a combination of bleaching and custom porcelain work to handle rotations, tipping, bite problems, and things of that nature. You may opt to use just porcelain alone. In addition to just porcelain alone, we sometimes use other materials when we need to satisfy other strength requirements. Some of those products are porcelain fused to gold, sometimes we use implants to replace missing teeth and we will put either all porcelain crowns on top of those implants, or porcelain fused to gold on top of the implants. Sometimes we will combine many different phases of dentistry in order to get the health and the function along with the cosmetics.
