Carolyn Dean: The consequences of taking the antibiotics, killing the good bad bacteria allows yeast to overgrow in our sinuses, in the mouth, if you have a white coated tongue, that's yeast overgrowth, in the intestines and vaginally as well. What's interesting about sinus infection is, the Male Clinic has published numerous papers saying that 97% of sinus infections are fungal and what that means is if you continue to take strong antibiotics to try to treat a sinus infection, you are actually creating more fungus and more yeast.
Mercury is found in dental fillings, vaccines, fish and you can get it by breathing air around coal burning plants. The mercury as I said acts like an antibiotic. The birth control pill and cortisone stimulate yeast growths, the sugar feeds the yeast and the stress produce cortisol, and like cortisone, it stimulates yeasts growth. So I hope this is clear now. I'd gone over it a couple of times. Again here the yeast budding at the top and then the thread like stages the mycelium, that's what is invading and creating this white coated tongue. What happens is the lowest concentration of sugar, yeast will remain the single celled budding organism and it will stay in the gut. But when sugar concentration rises above up a certain level, the organism becomes invasive, it goes into the small intestines and interferes, it causes a malabsorption of your food and nutrients.
Although while we have to understand that yeast is normal. Our immune system use yeast as necessary normal inhabitant of the body. The way the yeast gets away with living in our intestines is it has a couple of layers of cloaking that protects the yeast from the immune system. Here I say that we should think how normal amounts of yeast should trigger an immune reaction but our gene have not evolved to deal with the yeast overload such as we are creating with the use of antibiotics. So when yeast overgrows, it's creating a toxin that actually paralyzes the immune systems macrophages, which is the type of white blood cell. And how we know this is so many chronic conditions. If a person is treated with an antifungal program, many chronic conditions will improve because we are lowering the yeast overgrowth. We are reducing the pressure or the paralysis on the immune system so that the immune system can help deal with chronic conditions. So yeast is ubiquitous. It is everywhere; most people do have an overgrowth of yeast, just because of our diets, our use of drugs and the stress in our environment.
Yeast; there are some other things that have a direct effect on the mood. Intestinal yeast binds B-vitamins. In the absence of probiotics which are the good bacteria, yeast will actually create a subclinical Vitamin B deficiency. And I say subclinical because looking down here at the list of Pellagra and Beriberi there, the vitamin deficiency diseases look severe symptoms. But if you have a subclinical pellagra, then you could have this nice in deficiency with symptoms of mental confusion and in the extreme case, it's dementia.
But when a person with a mental confusion, they would necessarily think well, I must have a vitamin B3 deficiency. And you can first start saying, well I am under too much stress, maybe I am going crazy that you build up a story to explain why you have confusion or Vitamin B1 deficiency. You build up stories to try to understand why you feel irritable and why you are so fatigued and we create these stories. Then by the time the stories speak enough and we go to the doctor and say, I feel depressed. Then the doctor who never learned about the B Vitamins and mood and mind symptoms, the doctor who is trained to prescribe drugs will give you an antidepressant. The B6 deficiency is one of the strongest associations with nervousness and your little irritability and mood changes because it specifically interferes with serotonin and melatonin and neurotransmitter production in the brain.
Now the symptoms of intestinal Candidiasis, I'll go over. What we call yeast overgrowth? It's really yeast building up in the intestines. In medical school, I learned that yeast is either a pesky vaginitis or at the other complete extreme, it's a blood infection that a person would get especially if they are hospitalized and taking a lot of intervenous antibiotics and intervenous cortisones and maybe a lot of chemotherapy for cancer, a person like that might get a blood infection of yeast and that's very life threatening. So when you go into your doctor tomorrow and say, well I heard this talk about yeast overgrowth and I think I had it. Your doctor will say, well, that's crazy. You are walking around. We'll check you for vaginitis. If you have that, I'll give you a suppository. But you can't take systemic candidiasis or you would be in hospital.
So the wording is very important with doctors. Well first of all they don't believe that intestinal candidiasis is this. Even know the current literature showing a lot of association with intestinal candidiasis and wide spread symptoms but most doctors haven't read the recent literature so they don't understand what you are feeling, what your intestinal candidiasis. If you have some bloating and then the irritation in the GI track can be causing inflammation and irritable bowel syndrome, IBS. One of my other books is IBS one of my other book is IBS For Dummies. In that book, I spent a lot of time talking about yeast overgrowth and how it can cause many of the symptoms of IBS.
The Leaky Gut I mentioned and with a Leaky Gut, the little microscopic punctures in the GI tract, you have poor absorption of your food but you have good absorption of toxins into the blood. Why that is, is that the food molecules depend on certain receptor sites, in the lining of the intestines to be taken up and ushered through the gastrointestinal wall. But toxins from the yeast overgrowth and down below your feet that I am talking about up to a 180 different yeast toxins, they can easily be absorbed. Some people can have a yeast allergy where they have rashes and irritating sinusitis or vaginitis by being allergic to yeast.
