Carolyn Dean: And then the widespread reactions to the 180 yeast toxins. These toxins include alcohol. Alcohol can be measured in blood in someone who has severe yeast overgrowth and they haven't touched a drop of alcohol. They are eating a lot of sugar, they create a fermentation with the yeast in their stomach and intestines so they actually have their own stool. You can do a breathalyzer test and never have touched a drop of alcohol but the producing alcohol from your yeast.
Aldehyde such that's an aldehyde that's another yeast toxin. As aldehyde is known as the hangover chemical and people who feel brain fog and think they are going crazy because they have this incredible cloudy foggy brain. Well, that can be from acid to Aldehyde. Other yeast toxins inhibit the white blood cell function which allows bacteria to overgrow in cuts and wounds. I often wonder with the most infections now that are to antibiotics is if they are being enhanced by yeast overgrowth and the toxins can create vascular disease, gum disease, sinusitis, acne, peptic ulcer, many of the auto-immune diseases are triggered or worsened by yeast overgrowth and the yeast toxins as well as mood disorders, hypothyroidism, PMS, and anxiety.
So there is quite a long list. What happens with our hormones is some of the toxins in yeast will crossreact with the tissues of our hormones. They will crossreact with thyroid tissue with variant tissue. So when they crossreact with thyroid tissue, they can jam up with thyroid receptors and create symptoms of low thyroid and they can cause symptoms of PMS by jamming up a variant tissue.
I mentioned earlier how yeast can cause symptoms of IBS. So we have 20% of the population being affected by IBS. When I went to the med school in the mid-70s, they did not even have a definition for IBS. People had colitis or mucous colitis, IBS is the totaling of syndrome that seems to have been created by lifestyle factors and the environmental factors and as say, yeast overgrowth is one of the main triggers for this condition. Candidis and visible doctors what our little bloated lady is saying here is this has nothing to do with what the doctors saying, this has nothing to do with candid or foods craving yeast overgrowth and fermentation in your gut. Your sense of feeling bloated up like a balloon is purely stretch related; just accept that you'll be on a antidepressant for the rest of your life and you will be fine.
The seven questions that we wish doctors would ask women. And men, they'll get yeast too. I should mention that here that men can be get yeast after they've had montezuma's revenge when traveling or have parasites and they've taken another courses of the antibiotics and that's triggers an intestinal yeast overgrowth. So here are the seven questions.
1. Have you at any time in your life taken broad-spectrum antibiotics?
2. Have you taken tetracycline or other broad-spectrums for a month or more?
Now, kids who had acne have been given sometimes years of antibiotics and they have developed yeast overgrowth.
3. Are your symptoms worse on damp, moldy, muggy days?
4. Do you crave sugar?
5 Do you have a feeling of being drained and exhausted?
6. Are you bothered with bad smell or penile burning, itching or discharge?
7. And the last one is kind of funny, are you bothered by burning, itching or tearing of eyes?
What I say to people is, it's like you're up to your eyelids with yeast and they just start sleeping, well it's just that the all our discharges will be trying to release yeast, that's why you can get yeast skin rashes. Often times, kind of an undiagnosable skin rash will be a yeast rash.
Now this is the whole list of symptoms and I'll just quickly go through it. You can look at the slide show later on the Jigsaw sites. This is what makes it difficult too for doctors to kind of get a handle on yeast because they are used to just looking at one or two symptoms and making the diagnosis and giving the appropriate drug. Then when someone comes in with all the symptoms and especially if they have them listed down, I am hear to tell you what we learned in medical school and it's in the DeGowin & DeGowan diagnostic book that if your patient comes in with the list of symptoms then your diagnosis is of hysteria.
So your doctor really doesn't have the time to listen to a number of symptoms and it is much easier to give a prescription of an antidepressant. So you will get the drug necessary to build the poor coordination, mood swings, insomnia, dizziness, muscle weakness, pain, swelling in the joints, that's when the toxins go to the joints. What I know from Chinese medicine is if there are toxins in the internal body that can be damaging to the internal organs, then the toxins are diverted to the joints of the body, so that's what we happening here with the yeast toxins.
Abdominal pain, constipation and diarrhea, alternating, bloating, belching or intestinal gas, burning, itching, discharges, prostatitis, impotence, loss of sexual desire or feeling, endometrials during fertility; the inflammation in the Fallopian tubes can lead to endometriosis and infertility. PMS, I mentioned earlier, the cramping is very much associated with yeast overgrowth. Attacks of anxiety or crying, cold hands and feet, the hypothyroidism symptoms, shaking or irritability when hungry and bladder infections. So 23 symptoms and that's not all of them either. I don't think I had headaches there, that's another symptom.
And yeast and hormones, another book I wrote, research showing that candida antibiotics crossreact with every hormones of your testis, so I spend some time in hormone balance. We are talking about yeast and how to get rid of it. So how do we get rid of yeast? Avoiding antibiotics is important but what's frustrating is if a doctor has not done courses in nutrition or naturopathy, natural medicine, they don't have options and choices. We'll go over diet probiotics.
