Sasha Miller: In that respective scene, Hawthorne Heights, best known for their songs "Ohio Is for Lovers," but after their second album debut in 2006, and they made number 3 on the Billboard top 200. They showed how much more they have to offer. So welcome to WatchMojo, I am your host Sasha. Today we got a chance to check out what they -- damn, today we got to talk to Eron of Hawthorne Heights.
Do you feel like your band has been overly successful in the last year with your exposure with "Ohio Is for Lovers?"
Eron Bucciarelli: I would say yes, overly successful. I mean, we are definitely very appreciative of the successfully -- we have had that far, but if we were to go even further that will be great, if we can stay at this level that will be awesome as well.
Sasha Miller: Do you get tired up playing that song?
Eron Bucciarelli: No, because every time we play, we get amazing crowd response, so it doesn't get boring.
Sasha Miller: What bands are here today that you want to look forward to seeing this?
Eron Bucciarelli: Everyday I look forward to watching Bayside, they are good friends. We have been through a lot with them, done a lot of tours with them, and they blow me away everyday. Still Remains is another band, that's great, they are up and coming.
Sasha Miller: Are you guy's big fan of Vans Warped Tour?
Eron Bucciarelli: Absolutely. This is our second time doing it, and before that we had come to just as fans for years.
Sasha Miller: So what's the next step for your band then, creatively?
Eron Bucciarelli: Creatively we are -- well, we have just written our new record. We have 23 new songs written for it, and then the next step is to actually go into the studio and record those.
Sasha Miller: Do you contribute lyrically to the songs that you guys play?
Eron Bucciarelli: No, JT writes all the lyrics, musically, we all write each of the songs. I don't think any one song has been written, and it's entirely by any one number which is pretty cool about our band.
Sasha Miller: Where exactly is Hawthorne Heights from? What city?
Eron Bucciarelli: We are from Dayton, Ohio.
Sasha Miller: Well, I guessed the same. So where exactly did you get the name from though, Hawthorne Heights? How did you?
Eron Bucciarelli: It's something that our Base Player, Matt came up with. It really holds no significant meaning; it's something that we thought sounded cool. And it didn't really pigeon hole us as any one particularly type of music. So it gave us creative room to go in whatever direction we pleased.
