Hey, I’m Sean from Sprinkler Daddy, and in this video I just wanted to touch on head to head coverage again just to set my previous videos straight a little bit. I might not have been as clear as I could have been on what head to head coverage is on some of my diagrams. I basically only did half of the head-to- head coverage before in the diagrams and it may have been incomplete for some people. Basically if you start with a squarish yard like this just for simplicity sake we’re going to say that a sprinkler can spray from here to here, and from here to here, and it’s the same distance.
Before I was drawing the diagrams just half of the diagram, I was putting the sprinklers in the sprinkle locations in just the bottom areas there and this sprinkler would spray up to this sprinkler, and this sprinkler up to this sprinkler, but what I left out was the other two sprinklers that would be in this design. So, you would get this sprinkler spraying up to this sprinkler and to this sprinkler. So, everything sprays up to each other because when the sprinkler sprays you get, let’s just say a sprinkler spray pattern is kind of like this if your head is right there and then the precipitation that comes from the sprinkler actually is divided into thirds, so you get more water in the area, in the third closest to the sprinkler, and then you have a little bit less water in the second third, and then you get even less water as you get further away from the sprinkler.
So by having head to head coverage you basically get the least amount of water from this sprinkler is going to be over here. But the most amount of water from this sprinkler is going to be right there as well. Basically what that does is with head to head coverage it just evens out the amount of water that gets on your lawn so that you don’t have to water a longer amount of time just to get the bare minimum in some spots. So, basically that’s a little video just to clarify what head to head coverage is all about in a quick lay persons view.
