Learn about Hot Flashes

Basically, it starts in the thermoregulatory area in the hypothalamus. The estrogens will cause that to -- cause your body temperature to fluctuate, and you'll actually get a vasomotor changes that happen in your body so that you get more blood flow to the area, you get that flushed as well as the heat because of the blood flow. And then, as the temperature rises and our body wants to cool our bodies down, then you sweat. And some of that sweat is so profuse that it can really be debilitating, it can cause sleep problem.
