MY doctor also told me that i have to get such operation but i am afraid to and have no trust the ear drum will heal like before without hole , as my Aunt is suffering from a ear hole that never can make fix ,, pl tell me , is that 100% sure that ear drum will heal without a hole, thank you , PS, i am sorry i did not get this video sound ,,

Dr. Drew Ordon: And then somebody who has underlying sensory nerve hearing losses, it's so important that you get the middle ear to work as well as you can. So let me show you what's going on with middle ear infections. It all starts with the Eustachian tube not working properly. You see the little arrows that means the inflammation around the Eustachian tube causes constriction negative pressure. In the middle ear fluid collects. How do we correct that? We'd make a little hole in the ear drum called the Myringotomy. We place a tube which takes the place of the Eustachian tube so that air can go in and out and allow that fluid to come out on its own. If you don't do that, that fluid stays in the middle ear and can actually turn to glues so called glue ear and can lead to chronic ear infections which potentially can be a serious source of deafness.
