The summit of Mount Everest is just above 29,000 feet between Nepal and China making it the highest peek in the world. in 1865 it was named after George Everest however, both Tibet and Nepal have their own names for it. It is the tallest Mount in the world only when calculated from above sea level. If it were from below sea level as well, Monarch in Hawaii would be the tallest mountain in the world because it rises six miles but most of it is under sea level.
Climbing Everest is a frequently attempted challenge that climbers from around the world. in 1924 George Mallory and Andrew Irving attempted to summit Mount Everest however, does not known if they were able to do so because both of them died before returning. The first confirmed summit of Mount Everest and then safe to say occurred in 1953. It is estimated that there is only one third of the amount of oxygen at the top of Mount Everest compared to at sea level. So because of this many climbers need to bring oxygen bottles on the height to the top.
Mount Everest is a part of the Himalayan mountain range which is home to some of the worlds tallest peaks besides Mount Everest.
