Welcome to the Brand Splat video report. I'm Enzo F. Cesario. We’re going to talk to you today about what's going on in the world of digital engagement, what's trending hot right now is shareability, sharing stuff with your friends, your family your cohorts, videos, blogs, tweets. It’s a big deal and Brands are starting to get into the act too. One such brand that’s doing something innovative it is Subaru of America.
Then you got head in and come up with this ton in sheet campaign with their selling not the car but a detergent that goes with the car. The thinking here is you're going to be getting dirty in your outback and see who’s going to help you get cleaned up afterwards. If you go to their site OutbackDetergent.com, you can see the campaign unfold. You’ve got really funny spoof infomercial-type commercials. You’ve got a little back and forth section where you can ask their spokes skunk question and it gives you advice on how to clean stuff.
And also you can get your own bottle by typing in your zip code and they’ll locate a dealer near you where you can go ahead and pick up a bottle and maybe even test drive the new Outback. So some of the strengths of this campaign, I really think the product angle is fine and innovative and it tied right back in another brand as I do have getting dirty. I really like that. I like the entertainment factor, the infomercials were funny. It was good. I finally you know the fact that they're having this back and forth with people that are visiting their site by inviting them to ask questions. I like that, that shareability factor is definitely there.
Some of the missed opportunities, you know the social media aspect of the campaign it could have been a little bit more in debt. I know that they announced their campaign on Twitter by tweeting it once. I think they could do more. I don’t know if they have plans to do that. Also maybe you know invite users to have user generative content and do a promotion around that, that can be interesting.
And finally allowing to share some of the assets that you see on their site like the videos, they need if you could send that to a friend and what-not. Anyway, overall a really good push so remember if you're going to do branding campaign create a buzz, invite interaction and promote sharing and you’ll be on you way. That’s it for today.
