Hi everybody, I am Melanie Raposo and welcome to Mommy's Minute. Premature babies are at the highest risk of developing medical conditions, like neurological problems, developmental delays and seizures to name a few. In addition to the physical problems there are also psychological issues that can occur. Premature babies who do not fully develop their nervous system can encounter brain dysfunctions, like twitching, problems focusing and problems calming down. Giving birth to and caring for premature baby can be a very difficult experience. So don't be afraid to seek help from family, friends, support groups and medical staff.
