Leila: Striving hungry brings new music, reminisce of every rock and roll era. I am your host Leila, today on watchmojo.com, I talk to the band's lead man, John Milchem.
Why is punk rock not your music?
John: I am kind of against the concept of being it, it being called punk rock. That's more something somebody put in a bias. I am always sort of wanted to draw from any source that I felt, like I could, which is supposed to be a punk rock attitude.
What ever people are trying to define punk rock as, I am not really interested in.
Leila: What's the music making process like?
John: It's pretty self, it's pretty self indulgent on my part. I have to appoint and then I just take it to the rest of the band and try to direct them, which doesn't really work and they try to tell me the stop it and it go there on way and we you know eventually sort of meet some happy medium.
Leila: And can you describe rehearsal as a like fun-jam session, is it more like a job?
John: It's fun but it's not a jam session, it's not like a job because nobody's getting paid.
Leila: What have been some of the highlights of touring with other bands or highlighting your own tour?
John: We got to tour, we just finished touring with the Besnard Lakes, really amazing band and they took us out through the mid west of United States and up the west-coast where, we have never been. So that was pretty spectacular experience just go through. Being on tour for 3 weeks is fantastic, it's also like being in a moving jail cell for three weeks with three other inmates.
