Steve Watson: It does the room in your house that you would like to add an extra natural
light to a quick, easy and expensive way to do that is to add sun tube. To
install your own sun tube you are going to need some materials and tools.
First you are going to need the sun tube, then you are going to need the
drill or the drill bit, you are going to need the circle cutter and a jig saw
and a ladder and some safety glasses. The steps are a lot easier than you
might think. First you need to decide where you want to put your sun
tubes. Secondly, you mark that spot and then you use your circle cutter to
make sure you cut a perfect circle then you take your drill and drill a hole
so have a starting point for your jig saw. Then you cut along your circle
and drop out the dry wall and push back all the installation then you use
your drill and you drill the hole through the roof so then you know where
to cut from the top.
And we get up on top of the roof and from that center we do the same size
of circle and we did down below and we cut it out with the reciprocating
saw. We cut that out and then we install our sky lights from above they’re
self flushing so all you have to do is you scrape some of your shingles and
then slab it under then you check it in using a roofing nails and then put
your shingles back on top of it and come down below and install your
tubes and install your screen and then just put the ring on boom your done.
Now we have a natural light and this otherwise really dark bedroom and it
only took as a matter of just hour of two. If you like more information on
how to install your own sun tubes and anywhere in your house, click on go
list will send you a list of materials right to yourself.
