The construction of the first motorized airplane by the Wright Brothers was a significant step in the development of aviation technology. All metal airplanes were built from 1919 onwards. One of the most famous among them, the Junkers 52, became the leading airliner in the earth in the 1930s.

Today, ever bigger airplanes are being built to accommodate the increasing demand for transport capacity. Supersonic passenger airplanes achieved amazingly short flight times on long distance flights.
