Built on the island of Pharaoh’s in the 3rd Century B.C. in Alexandria Egypt, the lighthouse of Alexandria was built first to service the ports landmark but later on it became used also as a lighthouse.
At the apebs, there was a mirror which reflected sunlight during the day and at night the fire was lit which reflected that. It stood between 383 feet and 440 feet.
It was built because the flat Egyptian coasts lock to landmark to be use for navigation. In fact there was until the 1st Century A.D. that there was first use that is a lighthouse.
However, the word lighthouse in many languages the origin of it in French, Spanish, and Italian actually comes from the word Pharos. It survived the lowness of the ancient world wonders with the exception being the great pyramid which still stands today.
It was destroyed by an earthquake in the 14th Century and the rest of the remnants were used and incorporated into a Medieval Fourth Wall in 14 A.D.
