Male: The holiday season is upon us and if the time of year, we do start to think of others. Recently, our very own Dr. Lisa Masterson traveled to remote villages in Africa where doctors are desperately needed.
Female: The women in Africa deserved the best medical care to human right and they deserve to be able to have healthy babies. People don’t realize that every minute, a woman dies in labor. MFCI is a charity that I established to decrease the maternal mortality so that these mothers have a chance and these babies have a chance.
Can you tell her I’m going to listen to her alone?
I meet woman who have stories about walking miles and miles and miles to the hospital and women dying in labor. Well, recently I went to Africa with Erika Mcgrath. We’re actually developing an OB/GYN residency program. The first one in all of Africa.
One of the things that MFCI does is bring supplies and also medical staff to under privilege women.
So we’re going to listen to your baby, the fetal heart tones.
And also to file clinics so that the deliveries can be performed in a place that’s hygienic and safe and under supervision. Delivering babies is one of the most special gifts in the whole wide world and these women deserve what every other human being deserves and has a human right, which is access to good medical here.
This journey to Africa made me filled with the excitement and hopes about you know positive future.
