Learn about the Work of a Cosmetic Nurse Specialist

Hello! My name is Libby Stewart and I work here at Aurora Clinics with Mr. Adrian Richards. I started my career as a nurse in 1980 where I trained as a general nurse at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport, Wales. After completing my general training, I specialized in theatre work. Theatre work was very exciting and I enjoyed it enormously but decided to take a career break when the opportunity presented itself and joined British Airways where I spent a few happy years flying around the world and meeting many different types of people. A few years later after getting married, having a small family, I decided to come back into nursing and retrained. By now my interest had turned to plastic surgery and I was fortunate enough to gain a position with Mr. Richards working at the Shelburne Hospital in High Wycombe. We had a lovely time working in theatre together and I really admired his work and really jumped at the chance when he offered me the opportunity to come and work with him here at Aurora Clinics which he was just setting up. Aurora Clinics is a very special place where we have a very special family atmosphere here and an open door policy. I really enjoy getting to know all patients and trying to find out what it is that they want and how we can best help them. Our special interest is in breast surgery and when a patient has consulted Mr. Richards initially for breast treatment and has decided with him the best way to move forward with that treatment, I then see the patient. That's an appointment that I really love. We spent about an hour discussing sizes, shapes, textures of breast implant and really trying to work out the best way to go for the individual. It's not just a question of choosing size, it's question of trying to understand exactly what it is that's going to suit your lifestyle, and exactly what it is that your self-image would like to portray. As well as breast surgery, we conduct facial surgery here and that has a very rejuvenating effect for our ladies and gentleman who partake in this procedure. My interest here is assisting Mr. Richards in the preparation of the skin prior to surgery, so that he can achieve the best possible effects for you and also in protecting your investment afterwards by the use of dermal fillers, wrinkle relaxing injections and our special skincare ranges which are only available from clinics, which we have here at Aurora. We really enjoy helping to see that you have made the best of yourself and that you are able to preserve the effects that you have for some years to come by the use of these special treatments. If you are not yet at the stage where you feel that you would like a facelift or need a face lift, we can offer wrinkle relaxing injections and dermal filler injections for you. We use a range of the dermal filler injections here but are currently really enjoying using the new allergan product, Juvederm which you may have seen recently advertised on the television.
