My practice where I work in Oxford area and this is the waiting area and it's important with the waiting there is plenty of space so you can sit away from other dogs and cats and your dog isn't going to cause trouble if there is a rabbit in there or something, so a plenty of space for you all to sit happily there. Now the main consulting room is through here. What you are looking for in a consulting room is a decent sized space that's clean, it's tidy and nicely equipped, nicely lit and this is a very good consulting room, it's good for the vet, its also good for the patients as well.
Now, the rest of the practice which is important for facilities we have got just coming through here, in here we have got the X-ray room, it's very important to check the practice you go for has got a decent set of facilities including a good X-ray machine, ultra sound machine which we have got in there, then moving through the corridor here this is where I move up to the operating area of the practice and what we have here are the kennels and this is were animals wait in the run up to surgery. So we have got the smaller one cage is here for the small dog, I have got a separate room for cats and that's very important that the cats aren't being stressed next to the dogs and the bigger kennels down here for the larger dogs as they wait for their operation and what you would be looking for in your practice is again a decent sized, a good sized kennels, they are made of metals that are very easy to clean and they just look new, they look bright, they don't look as if they have had tens of years of wear and tear which is then be harboring infections and things. Then another important thing is to have a separate preparation area, so this is the area where we do dirty operations like dentals, cleaning teeth but also when we knock animals out we clip them up we prepare them before we take them to the theater which is through here.
This is the operating theater, this is a clean room, its only used for clean operations, for surgical operation, it has got a nice light, it's has got a heated operating table and in spite all of it there is a separate operating theater like that.
