Hi I’m Pirooz co-founder of the Grooming Lounge. Today I’m going to teach you how to
achieve the greatest shave ever. Now you’re probably looking at me right now and
wondering if this is done on purpose or if this is some new cool look that we’ve come up
with, not at all. I have been shaving and I’ve been teaching you how to shave, we started
with cleansing. We talked about using an oil; we talked about applying and cocktailing a
non-foaming shave cream. Now I have left my mustache, my chin and my neck for last
because I want to talk about the sensitive area. I want to talk about the areas where people
usually get nips and cuts where the redness comes in where most people get in grown
hairs.
A lot of men who have curlier hair a lot of ethnic men usually black men or Hispanic
men, Latin men whose hair is a lot curlier. That hair turns to go grow in and gets infected
after a while. It’s the easiest definition and therefore it turns into a bomb and that
infection and bacteria turns into an ingrown hair and as I said one of the best things is to
exfoliate and use a scrub three times a week and what that does it helps eliminate some of
the dead skin and cleans that area.
Most people when they have in grown hairs, ignore it and use electric shavers and try not
to shave, which is I think is worse to do than not to shave. You want shave, you want to
start removing that skin and you want to get your face used to shaving. So as you can tell
I’ve left these two areas for last and a lot of men have irritation on their neck. I know
there’s some of you out there that shave everyday, put on a suit and tie and then the tie
starts irritating your neck and that irritation causes basically some rashes and some
breakouts and those breakouts turn into bacteria and then before you know it you got
bumps or little red spots or what some people think are pimple so it’s not bad at all.
A: I has to do with the shaving products you’re using; B: It has to do with cleaning and
cleansing the face before you start shaving and; C: It has to do with the skin that’s built
up there, okay. Now the key in the neck is by preparing and by using a shave oil, my neck
right now feels very, very, very smooth, okay. So what you want to do when you’re
shaving your neck, most guys make the mistake of going really fast or dragging their
razor, you don’t want to do that.
The key is to always, always, always stretch the skin pull the razor in a 90° angle just like
this and shave down with the direction of growth and I’ll do it in the mirror for you again.
I’m not in a hurry. Stretch the skin and shave down and these areas and remember what I
said. Rinse your blade often, as often as possible. These are areas that are sensitive so I’ll
take my time.
Stretch and drag. Coming up on my next segment I’m going to show you how to trip up
your goatee? How to get even closer with your shave and how to create some interesting
designs and outlines utilizing and taking advantage of the shave oil.
