As we age our pores become more prominent and the reason they become more prominent is because of loss of collagen. After the age of 20, we lose about 2% of our collagen every year. The products that treat large pores are the ones that primarily just clean up the large pores and perhaps also promote the production of collagen.
Some of the products are the Neutrogena Pore Refining Scrub and the Olay Regenerist Detoxifying Pore Scrub. Both of these products exfoliate the skin and cleanse out the pores and in doing so the pores become less prominent and all the impurities from the skin are removed.
The Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner has Alpha and Beta Hydroxy acids. Alpha hydroxy acid allow the Beta hydroxy acid which is a Salicylic acid to penetrate deep into the skin and cause deep cleansing. And as you apply the products, you let it dry out and then afterwards apply the moisturizer. The Olay Regenerist Pore Scrub is used just like a cleanser. You apply to the skin and scrub it and afterwards just wash it off. This also causes deep cleansing. As a result the pores appear less prominent.
