Hi! I am Syed Amiry. We are here at Reston Dermatology & Cosmetic Center. We are talking about how to choose the best the over the counter products and ingredients to rejuvenate your skin. I will began in this clip with the changes that take place in your skin and the ingredients to look for.
So as we age, the skin loses its moisturizing ability and lose its water. It can appear very dry, rough and have a dull appearance. So hydration and moisturizing the skin becomes even more important. Another change that takes place is loss of collagen. After the age of 20, we lose about two percent of our collagen every year in sun exposed areas, and because of that the skin becomes slack and loose. And the products that actually reverses that process or stops it, here it becomes very important. These are Antioxidants, Retinoids, Hydroxy Acids and Sun Protection. In the next segment, we will talk about how to treat dry skin. I will talk about the ingredients to look for as you take care of your dry skin.
