This lesson we’ll go on some chords used in the song A Praying Spirit recorded by Karen Clark Sheard in the key of D. The introduction starts as follows:

To start the song. [Demonstration] Two E’s [Demonstration] A flat, A. [Demonstration] Right hand chord, G flat, A, D. [Demonstration] Hit E going to a G flat. [Demonstration] Two A flats, with the A flat, B, E I will try to hit that D going to two A’s in your left hand. [Demonstration] With a A chord in your right, A, D flat, E. [Demonstration] Then you go down the two G flats in your left hand keeping that same A chord. [Demonstration] Hit the G flat to the G. [Demonstration] Two B flats in your left, right hand A flat, D flat, G flat. [Demonstration]
I will try to hit the E, left hand goes to two B’s. Right hand is on a B, D, G flat. Then you start that phrase over again. [Demonstration] This time you will hit a E to a G flat. [Demonstration] Left hand two D’s add that A, right hand is on a B, D, E, G. [Demonstration] Hit a A, you keep that same notes in your left hand and your right hand you’ll then be on A, D, G flat. [Demonstration]
Now, we’re going to the five to the one in the key of D, where your left hand will go to A, right hand will be on a G, B.
