This lesson will cover a song by Donnie McClurkin titled Walking In Authority. It is in the key of E flat.
[Demonstration]
First chord is going to be an E flat chord. You are playing a G-B flat and an E flat. Left hand you play an E flat-B flat-E flat. I am Walking In Authority.
[Demonstration]
The next chord, you play an A flat in your left hand with a G flat-B flat-C-E flat. Go back to the first chord.
[Demonstration]
The next section plays that same E flat-B flat-E flat. Right hand you would play a B flat-D flat-E flat-G flat, bounce between this chord and a D flat chord, A flat-D flat-F.
[Demonstration]
D flat-D-E flat, but when you hit that E flat you will be actually hitting that first chord that you did.
[Demonstration]
That takes you back to your first chord which is the E flat chord. The only thing you did was arpegiate an E flat chord and an A flat chord.
[Demonstration]
Your E flat chord, your A flat chord arpeggiated.
[Demonstration]
Now back to the beginning. Now first two chords we learned. The next section, you are going to a C in your left hand. Your right hand you will be playing a B flat-D-E flat-G. Go to the F in your left hand. Drop your thumb down to that A and that is all you move.
[Demonstration]
Remember this C with that E flat chord. Take everything down a half spin every note.
[Demonstration]
Take everything down another half step but add that C in the middle.
[Demonstration]
From here you want to take your left hand over to the E flat, drop your thumb from the A flat to the G.
[Demonstration]
Go to the A flat. Right hand you have a G-B flat-C-E flat, G flat-F to the E flat. When you hit that E-flat you will be hitting that E flat chord at the beginning of the song. That is basically the whole song. Now I am going to play to it in its entirety so you can see how the pieces put together.
