Male: The second part of walking is the actual walk and to hit the rhythm and hit the timing.
When it comes to walking, there are certain things that you really need to sort of pay attention to. You try to take a bit of a longer step than you would normally try to take because I would like to say it is not walking down street, it is walking down a runway. So you have to make it look special.
So because you are a little bit shorter than the rest of the girls, you have to try to take as long and elegant a step as possible. So try to take as long but without making it look like you are reaching for it.
I always try to recommend that a girl gets a full length mirror and try to walk towards the full length mirror because she has to see what she looks like. Okay, when you take the steps, you need to take the steps so it is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Do not just tatatatata, right? You have got to take the steps right. Take them, with some attitude.
And go. Yes. Better. Watch me. So 1, 2 stop, shift you weight. Okay? So which way are you going to stop? Are you going to stop on this side? Or are you going to stop on this side? On that side, you are going to stop on this side so always, always stop on that side, then you do not have to think about it anymore. So now make it cool and smooth so 1, 2 and—
1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, watch the arm, watch the arm. Okay. So right now, you are turning like this which is okay but now, you want to take it to the next level. This is going to master class, now, you have to turn back onto yourself. So you are going to stop and you are going to shift your weight and turn and go back that way.
All right, so what I would like to get out of you is you got this little bounce and so right now, I will show you kind of like it is like and I would like you to be a little more elegant and just more, no hips, no hips, just put one foot in front of the other and that is the only thing you are going to move.
And go. Perfect so it is really important that you walk in a straight line with one foot in front of the other. You see how I can do it.
See how thick my thighs are, you are thighs are not that thick, you can do it. I would recommend that your cadence be a little bit off instead of being 1, 2, 1, 2, I like to think if it as 1-2, 1-2, 1-2 because it gives you a bit more jazz and a bit more bounce to your step and then depending on what you are trying to portray, if you are trying to be a little sexier, I would say probably pick your knees up a little higher. If you are trying to be a little bit more regimented, I would say maybe not so much crossing of the feet. If you are trying to do something a bit more couture, you have to stretch it out and make everything a bit longer so there is all these little tricks that you have to learn. So it really seems really simple but there is a lot to remember and you really have to really be able to portray the character on the runway.
