Hi Folks! My name is Ken Eastman at Wildlife Habitat Consultants. I am just going to give you a little introduction about us here. Our business is improving the habitat for the little critters. We specialized in wildlife food products. I have been ice fishing for 40 plus years. I was lucky enough to have an old fellow take me under his wing, one of the better fisherman up in this area, and kind of show me a few thing. I fished with him for years and then I had old guides service. So I have done a little bit of that, and also I was lucky enough to work for years as the best charter captain on Lake Champlain and Lake Ontario.
In this ice fishing video, we are going to just touch a few basic things for you, just kind of a little intro. We are going hit ice safety. A little information on how to walk on your ice with spikes if some of you are using an ice chisel. Some of you're using flotation device, ropes, early ice, late ice, we are going to touch on that, we are going to touch on clothing a little bit, different layers, ways to -- so you can kind of stay warm, all your boots, your clothes, socks and that.
We are going to touch a little bit on shelters from permanent shelters out there, like the old wood shack sort of portables, pros and cons to them, ventilation. We are going to touch on how to good hole through the ice driven from chisels to power drills and hand augers. We'll touch little bit on tackle and jig sticks or tip-ups or rods and reels. We will be hitting that a little bit, and then hopefully, we can go out and catch you a fish. So let's go and get started.
