What is up YouTube? It is Aaron. Another request, it is for the song called 45 by Shinedown. It is really a pretty, simple song I think, you know, this one is you got to practice it first before you get the hang of it. But the intro sounds something like this [Demonstration].
It is really pretty simple but what I want you to start out with is you start with your pointer finger and you are going to put it on the 3rd string down, it is your D string. This is the way I play it. You play open E, top string, then 3rd string down, your D string, your pointer finger is on the 2nd fret, then you play the G string, so you number this 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 like we have been doing on most of my lessons. You got to go 1, 3, 4 then put this pointer finger up to the 2nd fret of your low E string, the top string. So, it is string 1, pointer finger on the 2nd fret and your middle finger goes on the 4th string down of your G string, 2nd fret. You play 1 -- 1, 3, 4. Then you take your ring finger and put it on the third fret of your E string and you play 1, 3, 4. So it goes, [Demonstration].
Then you are going to take your pointer finger and put it on the 3rd fret of your A string, 2nd string down and you are going to play 2, 3, 4, 2, 3, 4. Then you are going to stick your ring finger down after you do this twice, 2, 3, 4, 2, 3, 4, with just that pointer right there. Then you are going to go the 3rd string down which is your D string, the third string down the D string and you are going to put your ring finger on the 4th so it is still the 2, 3, 4, 2, 3, 4. So it goes, [Demonstration]. Then you go back to that beginning part [Demonstration]. This is the only thing that might take -- able to get if you are a beginner. So you do this last thing, move this ring finger down here, you got the 3rd string down your D string in the 4th and then put your pointer finger on the 2nd fret of your G string which is your 4th string down. And what you are going to do is actually [Demonstration]. This is what it sounds like. [Demonstration]
So what you are going to do is you are going to take your pointer finger which is on this 4th string down, the G string on the 2nd fret. You want to play this note open. So it is really open, hammer on, pull-off. You do not have to do a whole lot of hammer and pull-off. All you have to do is play it on open. Put your finger down on the string and then take it off. That is all what I am doing. Once you do that, you are going to play the string above it which is your 3rd string down your D string. And your ring finger is on the 4th fret there and you just play that and then pull your finger off. So, as you go I just put this together, you are going to go [Demonstration].
Then you get right back in to that part we did earlier where your pointer finger is on the 3rd fret you go, do that twice. On the third time through that you are going to put this ringer down here, where it was earlier and then you are going to sneak your middle finger down to the 3rd fret of your B string. So that part is going to sound like this [Demonstration]. So these fingers are going to play that once again. We will start from the very beginning , you got to go. [Demonstration].
So, the second part, it has got the same beginning chord. And you have this whole [Demonstration]. Then you put your pointer finger here, the 3rd fret of you’re a string and you go, 2, 3, 4, 2, 3, 4. Put your middle finger on the 4th fret of your D string, the third string down and you then stick your middle finger on the B string which is your 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Fifth string down, 1, 2. So I can hear it from the top. And you are going to play 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3.
[Demonstration]
Just like that. That is what you play through the whole song. Once you play that verse, when you get to the chorus, the pre-chorus, it is like “What ever happened to the young man's heart,” it is an Am, pointer finger goes on the 1st fret of your B string, middle and ring finger is going to the 2nd frets of your D and G strings. So it is 1, 2, 3 and 4 string down, you are going to have on the 2nd fret, middle a
