Hey guys, it is Aaron. This next song is another request. It is by guy name Dallas Green and the song is called Casey’s Song.
Really, the first time I have heard this. I really like the song and I was fun to play, and it is really simple too. So, if you never heard this but you are looking through my videos and drop on a simple song, this is simple song.
The only thing it is going to be difficult about this is you are going to tune your guitar little bit differently. Usually, guitar goes E-A-D-G-B-E from to bottom, E-A-D-G-B-E. The way that the top string, your E string is standard tune, it is an E. So, it stays at E.
[Demonstration]
Your next string down is your A string
[Demonstration]
But you need to tune it to Ab or G#. G# and Ab are the same note. So, what you are going to do is you had to have this string, if it is an A, tune it half step.
So, if you have 440 on your tuner, it is a top, you see 430 over here on left, you can adjust it down, so 430 is in the middle, or you can just tab it, tune it down. But either way, you want to get down half a step. 3rd string down is your D string.
This section needs to be a B note. So, you need to tune it down for your D, actually 2 full steps, about 1 ½ because one full step down from D is a C, another full step down is B. So, you go down, you need to go down to a B with your D string.
The next one is F#, and this originally your G string, so you are going to take it down half a step, because F# and Gb; the same thing. So, you are normally in a G, you would take some half a step, it is an F#.
This is your B string, so it is the same.
And then this one is actually, he plays it with an F as an F#, I am not going to try and tune this up here because I do not want it to break. So, what I just did is you can just tune it down half a step to make it Eb.
So that would be E-Ab-B-Gb, this stays at B like it is normally, and then this is an Eb.
So, once you have that, he starts out and song that goes, and then -- oh, I am sorry. Then once you get that tune right, you put your capo at II fret. So, everything is rowed to the capo so if you see the tab or you hear me say 5, that means 5 up from the capo.
So, 5 up from the capo, here it would be 7.
[Demonstration]
So, it is the actually the,
[Demonstration]
VII fret, feel that dot on the side, but it is six from up from this capo in two. He starts out with harmonic, if you want to play it, really, only just put finger like you land.
[Demonstration]
Stuff from me, they even do.
[Demonstration]
You just lay this finger over the top,
[Demonstration]
And as you play it, you pull out
[Demonstration]
Or whatever, I am not very good at harmonics with the whole thing. So, he does the harmonics, actually.
[Demonstration]
You can do it on the XIV fret if you want. So, it is good as XII but capo, that is why we are so supportive
[Demonstration]
He does that, all right. Once he does that, it is really simple. All you are going to do is to put your pointer finger on the IV fret from the capo, so it is actually on your VI fret, put your pointer finger there. Take you middle finger and put it on the IV fret of your E, A, D, G string, the four string down, all right. And then all he does is he goes.
[Demonstration]
Every 3rd or whatever he hits the fifth, he will start out by way does -- you know this up here, pointer finger IV fret, middle finger IV fret four string down, and then this ring finger goes on the V fret of the 4th string down. So, it is all the same string as your middle finger is.
[Demonstration]
And that whole little kind of.
[Demonstration]
That you can hear in the strum is all you are going is -- I just do all the down strum. You can do.
[Demonstration]
You can do it down-up-down-up, but I just do down,
[Demonstration]
And all I am doing is every note. I am taking,
[Demonstration]
Take it off, so to find that 4th note, 5th,
[Demonstration]
And I just kind of play like.
[Demonstration]
So, every 4th note, I kind of hit the bottom two, I kind of put my emphasis on it, so it gives a little bit extra. So, ins
