Hello guys. How is it going? This is Aaron again. This is the second video I have done on the song “Emily” by From First To Last but I am in drop D tuning. You can play a standard tuning where drop D. It is really up to you. I just like to play drop D. I like the way it sounds. In this one, there is actually, it starts out the same. Basically, what it does in guitar one, you see on the other video I have for it is going to have same picking pattern and has a little bit of strumming pattern for the chorus. It strums in the first and strums in the chorus.
This second guitar is only strumming during the chorus and I will be honest with you I just want to play one guitar and just yourself and guitar one is probably the one to play but there is kind of a little rhythm here that is really distinct when hearing different songs. For the intro part, put your pointer finger on the 2nd string down on the top, your A string 3rd fret and then put up your ring finger, you can use ring or pinky to go through the D string, the 3rd string down from the top 5th fret.
Then you are going to play the A string twice. The D and A string then B, G. So A, A, B, A, B, G. So, it sounds like this.
Then guitar two is actually is going to slide up. You are going to put your pointer finger on the 5th fret of your E, A, D string where exactly the same place your ring finger was last time and now you put your pinky there, and then put this ring finger down here on the 7th fret of your A string. You play the same picking pattern, A, A, D, A, B, G. This is going to go--
[Demonstration]
Then you are going to slide down. When you slide, you are going to keep these fingers and you are going to keep your pointer finger on the same string, the D string. Slide it down on the 4th fret. Take your middle finger and put it on the 5th fret of your A string, then take your pinky finger and put it on your E, A, D, G, G string 4th string down 7th fret. This ring finger here is not on anything. It is just in the way because I cannot bend it back without moving out.
This chords right here, you have top string is open but it is in drop D, so make sure you are on your A string, you have your middle finger on the 5th fret next string down, your E string pointer finger 4th fret and next string in G string you have your pinky finger in 7th fret. Then you play the 2nd picking pattern of that. Actually, it is A, A, D, A, G, D.
[Demonstration]
A, A, D, A, G, D. So, that kind sounds like this, we will slow down a bit.
[Demonstration]
Slide down, once it plays that you go back to the very beginning when you play and you go--
[Demonstration]
You can play with your harmonics on 12th. In this 12th, it is all your B and G string. The 12th from the B, 12th from the G. We are not sure of harmonics. What you do is really easy to do. Ring where you put down, you push only the down the fret. This one you barely touch it. You just put your finger on top where it pushes the string a little bit and play another and put your finger off it.
Once you do that you are going this little kind of riff. It sounds like this--

And the second part of it.
[Demonstration]
This one I had it, I slide it down the G string once in there. That is how that riff sounds like. You break it out in two parts or three parts really. More on just taking one at a time. The first one is you have to put your pointer finger on your D string 3rd string down 4th fret, middle finger on the same string on the 5th fret D string, and put your pinky down here on your D string 7th fret.
You are going to take your middle finger up in the air for a 2nd and play only in D string, 4, and you put your middle finger down 5, 7 on the G string. So, 4, 5, 7, 4, 5, 7, 4, 5 and you are going to play your 7, so the pinky up to 9 and then play 7 again below it. Then you are going to 5 4 then play 5 on the D string, E A D.
So, I am going to start from the beginning. Pointer finger 4th fret of your D string, middle finger on the 5th fret of your D string, pinky finger 7th fret of your G string. You play on the D string
