All right guys. I hope you can see. The next one I am going to do is “Friends in Low Places” by Garth Brooks. It is in standard tuning. The intro and I guess the whole song really is 4 little chords with little picking patterns.
So, the first is an A chord. So, you are going put your pointer finger on the G string 2nd fret, middle finger on your D string 2nd fret, ring finger 2nd fret of your B string. You are going to play number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6; and you are going to play number 2 which is your A string.
[Demonstration]
So, 2, 3, 4, 5 which is A, D, G, B.
[Demonstration]
Then you are going to switch to an E diminished which really all you need to know is you to put your pointer finger 1st fret of your A string, then you are going to put your ring finger on the 2nd fret of your B string.
[Demonstration]
And the 3rd fret of your G string, you are going to put your pinky on the 3rd fret. So, you are going to have the A string on the 1st fret with your pointer and you are going to skip the D string and you are going to play G, B, E with 3rd fret with your pinky, 2nd fret with your ring in an open so you are going to go.
[Demonstration]
Then you are going to bar across the 2nd fret and you are going to have -- see if this sounds right.
[Demonstration]
Alright, it sounds a little better. It is kind of tough, this is a tough barre chord. You are going to bar across the 2nd fret with your pointer, put your middle finger on the 3rd fret of your B string. Your ring finger on the 4th fret of your D string and your pinky is going to the 5th fret of the high E. This is going to go [Strumming of the guitar].
You are going to play 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and then you are going to play--keep that bar on 2nd fret.
[Demonstration]
And you are going to play. Put your ring finger on your G string 4th fret and your pinky on the 5th fret on your B string. You are going to play 2, 3rd string which is your D string. You are going to play 3, 4, 5 and then you are going to play 6 open. Then you are going to put your pointer finger on the 2nd fret of your high E, play it once on 2 and hammer on the 4.
Then the chords that I am going to show how to play from the actual song are just A. A, “Blame it all on my roots.”
[Demonstration]
Then an E “I showed up in boots”, B “And ruined your black tire affair,” E. Sorry guys I am going to trying to wing this as I go so I can get this right for you.
Okay. Let us do that one. Bar across on the 1st fret, bar across all your strings, then put your ring finger on the 3rd fret of your G, middle finger 2nd fret B, and pinky 3rd fret of your high E, strumming, that will be your E diminished. So, anytime you see E diminished, play this.
[Demonstration]
Anytime you see a B, just play--
[Demonstration]
Actually, you are going to play a Bm. So, anytime you see a B on the tab, you want to bar across the bottom five strings 2nd fret, and then put middle finger on the 3rd fret of your B string and then ring and pinky are going on the 4th fret of your D and G, two middle strings. Strum that and then really I think that is all there is of the rest of the song.
So, the tab I have over here is decent. If you do not like that tab go to ultimateguitar.com search for Garth Brooks or “Friends in Low Places” and kind sort through the tabs and see which one you like the best. I hope I lesson helped a little bit at least. At least, I give you a kind of concept. You can modify this yourself. So, I do not claim my tabs are a 100% right, I just try to get this sound somewhat similar. So, thanks guys. See you.
