Hey, what is up guys? It is Aaron again. Alright. The next song I am going to teach is called Here You Me by Jimmy Eat World.
The tab I have found is pretty good. It was tabbed by Joe Swindells from ultimate-guitar where I usually get all my tabs. With the standard tuning and the capo is on the 4th fret. So, what I want you guys to do -- alright, you got your guitar. You got your standard tuning and then once you standard tuning, you put your capo on the 2nd fret. There are four chords you are going to use. The first one is a D.
[Demo]
So, you try just play the bottom four of this one.
[Demo]
This is what you will be getting. This is what it sounds like. The tab shows open on the D which I will play it first. I do not just play that --
[Demo]
The tab comes in when you play that. About --. I do not play that. I just play --
[Demo]
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
So, I kind of exaggerate a little bit but I am going to go like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Strum as little harder.
[Demo]
Like that. You can kind judge of it but you got your D here. Pointer finger 2nd fret in your G string. Ring finger 3rd fret of your B string. Middle finger 2nd fret of your high E string. That is your D.
[Demo]
The next chord you are going to go to after you play that in the intro. Basically, all you are going to do is you are going to leave this ring finger here. Alright, you are not going to move your ring here. You do not want to move your ring finger. Just leave it there. and then when your pointer finger was on the 2nd fret of your G string is where you want your middle finger to be and your pointer finger is going to move up one string. So, it is going to be on the D string, your 3rd string from the top, 2nd fret and that is the second chord.
[Demo]
As with the tab, it plays --
[Demo]
So, it begins with this --
[Demo]
Do that four times in the intro then you start with the verse.
[Demo]
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
[Demo]
In the third chord, you are going to leave your ring and middle finger the same and then you are going to put your pointer finger up where it was here. On the B string, it is either on the A string, 2nd fret.
[Demo]
The same strum pattern. Down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up. It is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Four times.
[Demo]
Then you switch into a G. Once you get to the G from here. If you are already in your position, you just take the middle finger up put it here on the 3rd fret. Leave your pointer and ring there. Middle finger comes up on the 3rd fret of the low E and your pinky comes up on your 3rd fret high E.
[Demo]
Alright, so that what will get us I am going to cut it in half. Instead of four parts, it will be two. You will do four on your quarter note.
[Demo]
Alright, if you are having trouble with the chords, check out the tab over here. It is a great tab. It is one of the best tabs I think I found for this song.
The second thing I want to teach is the chords. The chords has -- I want to break it up really -- it is only two parts but I want to break it up into four parts. So, you guys can kind of understand it. Alright, now the chords -- all you got to do is you are going to play the chords we learn in the intro and verse are 1, 2, 3, 4.
Alright, so the chords, you are going to play chords 1, 2, 4.
[Demo]
You are going to play that twice. The third time you are going to play it with all fur chords. 1, 2, 3, 4. Fourth time, you play this 1, 2, 3. So, I am referring to a D as one, and as the first chord you do in the verse. This one over here is like an Asus2 I think. But you must look about that. That is your second chord. The third one, you just take the pointer finger up in the one you just have in the second. Move back to your 2nd fret on your A string, third chord. The fourth one is a G. Alright, so I am going to play two of the chords. alright, you are going to start out. The first thing you are going to strum is going to be your D to the Asus2, to the G. Alright then say [Demo].
The strum pattern is down, down, up, down, up. Switch, down, down, up, down, up, down, up. Switch, down, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down. Down, up, down, up, down. Alright, so you guys do that little sequence twice.
[Demo]
Third time is going to be D, 2nd chord, 3rd, 4th, last strum, the same as verse two. Alright, I think that is pretty easy. You guys are going to figure that out. The difference -- next thing I want to teach you is the bridge. The bridge is -- you will figure out the rhythm yourself but basically if you look on the tab, it has this chord which is a Bm. So, you bar across the 2nd fret above the capo which lies at the 4th fret. Bar across the bottom five strings. Middle finger goes on the 3rd fret up above the capo, on the B string. And then the two middle strings is your ring and pinky. It is going to sound like this.
[Demo]
So, it is like --
[Demo]
Alright. So, that is the Bm. You are going to go down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up down, up, down, up. Then switch to a G and the first two. The first two down, up, down, up, down. You are going to go down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up.
In the next two, you are going to keep this G with this pinky. It is almost on the 3rd fret. Just take it off here. Having to see it and just stretch it up here to the 5th. It does not matter if it is lined like this on the side or what. We just want to get it there.
[Demo]
You did not hear that high pitch at the end of the song. It sounds like this.
[Demo]
Same thing again.
[Demo]
Alright. So, on that part, I just taught you twice in the bridge. Then I am going to teach you the solo. There are two guitar solos. There is one that is kind of a -- I think it is done on the piano but the tab is over here for it in the second solo.
For the first solo will be the kind of basis for it. I am going to play through it and I am going to tell you kind of quickly because we go little time left. Alright, two minutes.
This will be interesting. Alright. Pick your pointer finger on the 7th fret. No, it is not 7th, but with capo that is just 7th overall. It does not matter if you are with capo or you are just barring. Bar across the bottom four strings.
Alright, your ring finger is going to play all the notes on your D string, 9th fret. If you play the note, 7th fret of your -- I am sorry, your ring finger is going to be on the G string, 9th fret.
Alright, the 9th fret on the G is going to be played with your ring. If it is on the G string, it is 7th fret. The bar covers it. If it is only the B string, 7th fret is covered by the bar, 9th fret is covered by the ring, and pinky is covered by 10th fret. And then there is one time you have a note on the 7th fret of the high E. Alright, and that, when you do that, you are just going to play with that bar.
I am going to zoom in here real quickly so you can see this. I am going to try and get this up here close, so you can see it. I hope this works. Alright, you play 9 on the G.
7, 9, 10, 9 on the B then 9 on the G, 7 on the B then on the B 7, 9, 7, 9, 7 on the high E. 10, 9 on the B. 9 on the G. 9, 7, 9, 10, 9 on the B. 9 on the G. 7, 9 on the B, back to 9 on the G. and the last one is 9 on the G. 7, 9, 10 on the B, then 9, 9 on the G.
The second solo is even easier. For the second solo, your pointer finger is going to be on the 5th fret not relative to the capo, just 5th fret overall on the B string. Your middle finger is in the cover of the 6th fret on the G and your ring is going to cover the 7th fret on the G. So, you got this figured out for yourself. Most of the time, the D are open. I am going to run out of time in five seconds.
I hope this helps. I will put some more lessons out. See you guys. Thanks for dropping by.
