This song is called Grow Old with You. It is by Adam Sandler. The verse is pretty simple it goes A, to Bm, Cm, D, A, D, D, A so it sounds like this. So let us with the verse, you are going to start with an A. The way I think it is great for playing A is instead of doing like this way where you have ring, middle and pointer, I like putting your pointer finger on G string 2nd fret, put your middle finger on the third string down your D string, 2nd fret and your ring finger on the B string 2nd fret. Starting on the 3rd string, on the D string and your middle finger 2nd fret, G string at your 4th string, pointer finger 2nd fret. This string down and the B string, your ring from your 2nd fret so that is the A. I have this pattern here. So down, down, up, up, down, up and I switch to Bm, down, down, up, up, down, up. So down, down, up, up, down, up then switch down, down, up, up, down, up. In this Bm, you are going to barre across the bottom five strings with your pointer finger at 2nd fret. Then you are going to take your middle finger, stick it on this string from the top, the 2nd one from the bottom of your B string, put your middle on the 3rd fret. Then take your ring finger and put it on the 4th fret on your D string and the pinky goes on the 4th fret of your G string so t sounds like this.
And then, you get the C#m and you just slide everything up two frets so now your barre is at 2nd from 4th and instead of your middle finger on the B string 3rd fret, it is on 5th fret. These two here instead of being on the 4th fret are now in the 6th fret and same strumming pattern down, down, up, up, down, up. Then get down to D, which is 4th string down your G string, pointer finger at 2nd fret, B string, – your ring finger is 3rd fret and then your high E at the bottom string and you go from your 2nd fret. That is down, down, up, up, down, up, then A down, down, up, up, down, up, then E. I just play it once. The E is middle finger, second string down A string at 2nd fret. The ring finger is on the 3rd string on the D string at 2nd fret and the pointer finger is 4th string down the G string 1st fret. Bm, Cm, E, D, A, back to the E and that starts verse two. Verse two is the same and there is the first verse then second verse then you play the chorus, same strum pattern. You can play it for two times around D so down, down, up, up, down, up, down, down, up, up, down, up and then A, D, G, D. Then you play the E just once and then start strumming on the E, D.
The third verse is the same. At the end of second verse, there is a D, so the end of the first verse back to the E that is the end of the first verse and the second verse, Dm and then A7, just take your pointer finger off. Then the chorus that I just talked about verse three D, A, E, D, A, D, D, A. First verse, A, Bm, Cm, D, A, D, D, A Second verse, A, Bm, C#m, D, A, E, D, A, take that pointer finger off to A7. D, A, D, D, E, B, A, Bm, D, A, D, D, A, E, D, A
