Hey guys, what is up guys? It is Darren. The next one I want to do is “I am yours” by Jason Mraz, I have a variety of different tabs for this that I found. The one I think is the best for everybody. Jason Mraz actually plays this with a kapo. I think he plays it on the second fret maybe and plays bar chords. I could be wrong with that but I know he plays with a kapo because I have seen him. But I want you to put your kapo on the fourth fret. Basically, there are four chords during the kind of verse. There is a G, D, E minor, C and with that, just go down, up, mute, up, up, down, up, mute, up, up, mute. Those are the four chords. G, D, E minor, C and that is the way I want to play it. That is just open chords if you want to avoid the bars but you could also play it with bar chords. So the way I like to play it – I think it sounds a little better but it is up to your choice of personal preference.
But start off with a G, so just bar above the kapo to G relatively kapo. You are going to bar one, two, three across all six strings, three frets above. Your middle finger goes here on the G string, fourth fret above and then ring and pinky on the fifth fret above A and D strings. So go down, up, mute, up, up. Then go to your D bar chord which should be in the ninth fret, five frets above your bar and you are going to do the bar across the bottom five strings. Then take your ring finger here, put that on the 11th fret overall which is the seventh above the kapo. That is the second chord and I will actually just play the E minor here. Then from my C, I go third fret up and I do these two bars across three frets above the kapo. Bar across the bottom five strings so you have this. Those were the four chords that he uses for the main part.
For the bridge he goes from a G, C, E minor, to a D again and that is just how to play the open chord. Hit C twice and goes A7, do that twice. As far as the little rifts go, take your pointer finger on the D string, put it on your ninth fret, middle finger on 11th and you are going to pluck this together and then slide them both up two frets. So this is on the D string ninth fret, this ring finger is on the 11th fret of your G string. Slide them up and take one slide up two frets then back to where we started and back again. Then we do it again. I do not know how the song goes but you can see this tab that I have. The tab that I am going to give you is how you can play the whole song without the kapo. So I am trying two tabs.
We will have another one that is going to be a link leading you to another guy’s video, click on the more info. On his more info, he is actually going to have the actual kind of chord set up. But if you have a pen and paper, you can write them down. So it is kapo at fourth fret. The intro is just through G, D, E minor, to a C. Then the bridge is G, D, E minor, D, C, C and then A7. Write those down and check out the other tab over here for the little rift and I hope this helps. One more time, I will tell you the strum pattern because that is what everyone is asking. Just do down, up, mute, down, up, mute, up, up, slide up here, down here to E minor, down, up, mute, up, up, mute then you go back up here to this C.
So good luck guys, I hope this helps.
