Hey guys, what’s up, this is Aaron. Sorry it has been a while since I put a lesson up. I have been busy with work and everything but this one right here is called “Love remains the same” by Gavin Rossdale. It is a standard tuning. It is pretty simple as far as the chords go. One thing you need to know is that there are two ways to play. You can play the major chords or you can just play like the A, D, and G strings. This is what they do in most of it, when he plays it, I guess but the chords that you are going to need are E to standard tuning. So E and that is where you are going to put your middle finger, 2nd string down, 2nd fret, ring finger, 3rd strings down in D strings, 2nd fret and your pointer finger on the G strings, 4th string down from top, 1st fret. All right, that is your E.
So, the verse is actually going to be E, to B5, So, what I want you to do is from your E to get your B5, right. So this is your E looks like. When you go to your B5 you put your pinkie down on the G string at 4th string up on top on the 2nd fret, and then you are going to slide your those two fingers down here. So your ring and pinkie is going to be on the 3rd and 4th string down your D, G strings 4th fret, then stick your pointer finger down the A string, 2nd strings down 2nd fret, that is it.
All right then you go back to A5, all that is take your pointer finger slide this two fingers back down here so the breadth is on the 2nd fret and they are on the D and G strings, your 3rd and 4th strings down. You can strum.
[Demo]
All right this is your A5.
Let us have your E then you get to your B5 and you put your pinkie finger down, slide up 4th fret and pointer finger here and then you get to the A5, you just slide and take your pointer finger off so these are both in the 2nd or 3rd and 4th strings down at D and G, slide it down 2nd fret.
All right, these are the verses D to B5, 2 measures with an A. Do the same thing again.
The pre chorus “Half of the time the world is ending, truth is I am done pretending,” let us go with F sharp, so you are going to put your bar across the 2nd fret here and then you can take your ring and pinkie and put them on the A and D, your 2nd and 3rd strings on top of 4th fret. You can play all the strings, chords at top three it is all up to you.
“Half the time the world is ending” like that and then up here you go back to that A. It is called A5 on this tab. “The truth is I’m done pretending”, all right.
Then when you get to the chords—that was a pre-chorus. And when you get to the chorus you will see an E5 here. It is just like an E minor, I do not want to have a 5 but do not play like that, plays a regular E. So the chorus got an E and then E5 just like the intro, back to the A. So your verse is going to be E to the B5 to the A5 twice, so then your chords is also the same as the verses E to this and then A. The A5 is just like your regular A except that it is on the B strings. That is it.
Then, let us see, 2nd verse pre-chorus is again this F sharp here to the A. Everything is the same; there is one thing that says, I think this maybe the bridge, now I do not know what that is, okay.
We are on the song, you play the 1st verse pre-chorus then the chorus, yes the chorus, and then you play the 2nd verse, the pre-chorus, the chorus. And then after that there’s a thing works, “so much more to say, so much to be done,” that is all in this B5, “so much more to say, so much more to be done,” then it goes down here “don’t you trick me out, we shall overcome.” Then back up here to the B5 again.
[Demo]
And finish it with a D. D5, all of these are D without your little finger on 2nd fret high E, so that is jut pointer finger on the 4th string down your G strings, 2nd fret, ring finger 3rd fret to have your D string.
All right, says “our love,” stays in place, then “we should have the sun,” is an E again B5, “you could have been the sun,” A, “instead were over here.” Then this is the bridge at F sharp 5 again. “Half the time the world is ending,” F sharp again. “The truth is I am done pretending,” then back this to A. “
