Hi there guys, it is Aaron again. Once again, I am in New York for work and this is another Johnny Cooper song. This is called Missing You by Johnny Cooper.
Standard tuning. He plays like finger picking. When he plays the sound is sort of something like this like --
[Demo]
Something like that. So, basically, all I am going to show you to do is I am going to show you the chords he uses and then the finger picking, it has a tab for it. Basically, you just play the chords that you are playing with and you play the base note. Pick like a base note with your thumb and then the G or B strings are going to be like --
[Demo]
Like that.
So, the chords just start with a D. I am going to play the D bar chords. So, you put your pointer finger across the 5th fret bar across then you are going to take, you are going to cover the 7th fret of the D, G and B strings with this ring finger. So, you put it like that. It is kind of awkward but learn to master it.
[Demo]
And that is the first chord.
[Demo]
It sounds like this.
Alright. C#m, you are going to slide down one fret. So, your bar is across the 4th fret. You are going to put your ring and your pinky on the 6th fret of the D and G. The very low two strings on the 6th fret and your middle finger is on the B string. Your next to the bottom, second one after the bottom. So, 1, 2 on the 5th fret that is your C#m.
[Demo]
Then the third chord. Just slide everything down and you bar across the 2nd fret. This is the Bm.
[Demo]
Alright, so everything is the same that would appear. Put it down.
[Demo]
Then the last chord is A. You come up bar across all six strings in the 5th fret. Ring and pinky go on the 2nd, 3rd string, your A and D. It is the 2nd 3rd down from the top.
One the 7th fret, your ring go on the 1st string down from the top, your G string on the 6th fret. That is the A. So, the chord will be is D.
[Demo]
The C#m to Bm to A. Do that four times. Then the chorus, you actually go from this last one. you finished from the A.
[Demo]
Then your Bm.
[Demo]
Up two frets to the C#m.
[Demo]
Then stay there and make that little D. Then right back up to the A on the 5th fret. Okay, so one more time.
[Demo]
Bm up two frets to the C#m.
[Demo]
Then up one fret and we will make the bar for the D.
[Demo]
Now right back to F.
[Demo]
Then to the A.
Alright, the bridge is E. Which you can play an E in a variety of ways, I would just suggest. See how you have them with the bar chord. Have the ring and pinky here on the A and D strings and the middle finger is on your G string on the 5th fret. Take that bar off and just slide that down through the 1st fret.
[Demo]
That is the E. I would suggest you to play the E there.
[Demo]
Then you are going to go up to the next. Play E for two measures.
[Demo]
Next thing I got is an A.
So, I just slide all that up just up to the 6th with your middle on the 7th fret with these two and you put your bar down, you are back to A.
[Demo]
So, these three fingers here will stay on the same strings. This one is on the 2nd string or A string. The pinky is on your 3rd fret of your D string and this one is on your D string and you just stay there.
[Demo]
E, A, E, A, E. Alright. So, you go E to A to E and then D which is just this bar chord here on the 5th fret which is a little mini bar on the 7th fret.
[Demo]
To A.
[Demo]
To D.
[Demo]
To A.
[Demo]
Back on the Bm we did earlier.
[Demo]
C#m
[Demo]
Up again, D.
[Demo]
E.
[Demo]
