This song is called “My Name is Jonas.” This is personally my favorite song because I love the acoustic guitar. So go to C, you want to put your ring finger on the A string, second string down at 3rd fret, middle finger goes in the 3rd string down D string 2nd fret, leave your D string open and B string pointer finger first fret. It sounds like this. So the way I play it is I take my thumb and play this A string and I will play with my thumb ont the A string and then I play my B string, pointer finger on the G and then thumb to the D. So I go thumb from my A, B string, I put the middle pointer finger on the G then back to my thumb on the G, then B, G, D, again with middle, pointer, thumb.
Then from your ring finger on the 2nd fret of the 3rd string down your D string, a little bit up to your 2nd fret of your 2nd string. Now, play your A string with your thumb. Then on your B string which is open, you play middle, pointer on the G string and then your thumb on the open D. I go back to my middle and pointer to the high E and B. If you are good with your ring and you want to play it, I met some people that rest their pinky here and play everything, so will start from C. Then do the same picking pattern but instead of being at C at the beginning, you got an A minor. You play thumb on the A string, middle on the B, pointer finger on the G, thumb on the D, then middle, pointer, thumb again on the B, G, D. Throw that middle finger up to the 2nd fret of the A string. Then B, G, D open then E, B. Let us start from the very beginning. You are going to repeat that.
Then the verse, it is distorted but it is bar chords and it sounds like this. So what we are going to do is we are going to bar cross on the 3rd fret across the bottom five strings, stick your ring and your pinky down here on the 3rd and 4th strings down from the top of 5th fret. So you go down on E, A, or D, G, strings or two middle strings on the 5th fret you want your ring and pinky and then you barre across 3rd fret to pointer. That is the first one so we go one, two, three, and then move everything up one fret. So your barre is across all six now. And your ring and pinky are on the A and E, 2nd, 3rd strings now but still on the 5th fret and the barre is still on the 3rd then slide everything up to your barre across the 5th and these two fingers on the 7th fret. Then slide everything down to your barre on the first fret and these two on the 3rd fret. That is the way I play that whole thing.
On this part, I just play F barre chords. So the barre across all six strings on the first fret, put your middle finger on the 4th string down from top, which is your D string, on the 2nd fret and then your ring and pinky on the A and D, your 2nd, 3rd strings on 4th fret. You can play it one, two, three, four, five, six, one, two, three, four, five, six, one, two, three, four, five, six, one, two, three, four, five, six. So that is your F. That is your G. Then on this part, it is that same barre across the bottom five strings. Then put your ring and pinky on the 3rd and 4th strings then two middle strings 5th fret. Then you get to the interlude which is kind of like the solo and like I said, I am not going to teach that. So if you have any questions or a comment, send me a message and I will try to get to it. Thanks a lot guys.
