So guys, it is Aaron. This song here is called “Never too late” by Three Days Grace. It is in drop D tuning so your tuning should be D, A, D, G, B, and E. It is a standard tuning but drop this down one step from E to the D. It should sound like this. [Demonstration] Like that. So, the way you start the song out, it sounds a little something like this.
[Demonstration]
Like that. Basically when I play it, take your bar, put it across the top three strings on the 8th fret. So, 8th fret up here at the 3, 5, 7, your third dot, 1, 2, 3, next fret up, 8th bar across the string and then put your ring finger on the 10th fret of the 3rd string down of your d string and you are going to play this.
[Demonstration]
Okay, so you are going to play it.
[Demonstration]
Okay, so you are going to play, number this 1, 2, 3, all you need is this top three for now. You are going to play, 1, 2, 3, so your E, A, D, 1, 2, 3, 2 and you are going to play the E, I want you to take that pointer finger off so that it is open. So, E on the 8th, A on the 8th, D on the 10th, A on the 8th again, then E, open. And then you are going to play, your A string open, you are going to pick up more often. A string open, then you play it. Your D string on the 10th, then put your pointer on the A, this one on the seventh, open and start over.
[Demonstration]
About three times, fourth time you are going to go --
[Demonstration]
You are going to play the --
[Demonstration]
Yes, you are going to play the A, have the E string on the 8th, A string on the A fret, and you play 10th fret on the D string. And then you play the A again, so you are going to go, 1, 2, 3, 2 and then take this ring and bar across on the tenth fret. This top three, these three strings up for them to be strummed, just once so --
[Demonstration]
Or you can play it --
[Demonstration]
You are going to slide that bar up. Either way, now when you are finish on that, play these top three, those three there. After that, the strumming for the verse or the chorus, the riff there is, -- is the intro and the verse. The chorus is strums, just easy strums, three replays, open to the A and when you play the A, you just cover this top three strings with your pointer. So, open, [Demonstration]. Somewhat open, A, 7, down, down, down, down, down, up, down, up, down, down, down, up, down, up, down, down, up, down, up, the. See, you can figure out your own strum pattern. There is never a correct strum pattern. I am just keeping the rhythm and that is so. [Demonstration]
Try to stay just on the top three strings. When you hear this, get some of that, you do not want that.
[Demonstration]
Then, there is one part at the very end of the chorus where instead of going open, to A, to 7 then it goes open, it goes A, 1 open, then the 7th, so open, C, A, open, 7, 8. So 8th, open, 7th, 10th. And that is just one time there at the very end of the chorus. Actually it is quite -- this is twice. Where it says “it is not too late, its never too late, to the very end,” and then he goes back into that again, that same riff. The only thing that is different at the end of the song, is you are going to hear it something like this, where I see it is a bridge, hear this, something like that. All that is you are doing the same as the beginning, you are going 1, 2, 3, 2 and then instead of 1, 2, 3, 2 and instead of playing the next note there, you are going to slide this up to 1, 2. So it is, [Demonstration].
You need your pinky --. [Demonstration] I hope you can do it. Really like that. So that is the part in the middle and then the song ends also the same as the beginning. [Demonstration] Like that.
So, I have the tab up here to it. This tab will walk you through to the whole lyrics. They are really the same pattern, it is not really difficult. So good luck and the tabs will be up here. And let me know if you have got any questions whether it is a message or a comment and I will be back to you. Thanks.
