Hey guys, what is up? It is Aaron again.
Still in half step down tuning, the last video I just did was, Chris Brown’s, “With You”. Check it out if you like that kind of music. I think it is one of the most fun songs to play as far as, if I could sing it, it would be awesome, but I cannot.
To get the half step down tuning if you are still curious, go ahead, this is a kind of a shortcut method I am going to show you.
Put your capo on the 1st fret, tune it to standard tuning, so it is E, A, D, G, B, E and then just take the capo off and it will be in half step down.
So, it is kind of a quick little way to do it, but you are going to start out on the same chord that you started out on “with you”, you are going to start out with “send me a photograph” the main riff sounds like this.
[Demonstration]
Alright, so pointer finger 7th fret of your A string. Ring and pinky 9th frets of your D and G, and you are going to play--
[Demonstration]
I play down, C.
I will play--
[Demonstration]
--down, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up.
Then you are going up from there, you are going to move your pointer finger to the E string 7th fret, move your ring and pinky up one string so the E and the ring and pinky are now on 9th fret of your A and D. Then stick this middle finger down here on the G string, 8th fret. You have on the top string from top to bottom your pointer finger, 7th fret, ring 9th, pinky 9th, middle 8th. Then you are going to play this.
[Demonstration]
So, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up. You are going to slide everything up here, up three frets so your bar, instead of this low E instead of being on the 7th is on the 10th fret, and then your middle is on the 11th, and this two here your ring and pinky are on 12th fret. You are going to slide everything down five frets. So now, your pointer finger is on the E string 5th fret, these two on 7th fret and your G string has your middle finger on the 6th fret. So that, again, sounds like this.
[Demonstration]
So, the one thing I remember is those three chords, this--
[Demonstration]
You do not have to pick these fingers up at all. You just slide from here from 7 to 10. When I am talking 7, I mean this base note to 7 to 10 to 5. Alright, see that is the intro and kind of verse.
There is one riff before you get the chorus, it sounds like this. It is the same chord you just made actually but you slide down to the two, this on the 3rd fret. So, you go--
[Demonstration]
Since you will be saying “goodbye, goodbye” or before the chorus it is the pointer finger 3rd fret, A and B, pinky and ring, 5th fret then middle 4th fret in G strings.
[Demonstration]
So, down, down, up, down, up, down, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down.
Slide it up 5th fret
[Demonstration]
Down, down, up, down, up, down, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down.
Alright, the chorus is the same as the verse and the intro. There is one riff that it is after the chorus and you can hear the kind of solo tune it is at but the chords, there is two guitars. One guitar is playing the strumming chords so the one guitar plays this, 7th fret, pointer in 9th for these two in this place, and it goes right to the 2nd chord like you are use to playing. But then it slides all down to 3rd fret, and back to 5th.
Alright, and while these chords are being strum, there is a little riff that goes on. Start out by putting your pointer finger on the high E 7th fret, ring finger 9th fret of your B string and you are going to play your B string 9. When I say 9, I mean this B string on 9th fret, you are going to play 9, 7, 9, 7.
Now, on the B string you are going to go 9, 8, 7 then put your ring finger on the G string, 9th fret, and you are going to play that, and you are going hear this little--
[Demonstration]
That’s up 3 times. All that is, is my pointer finger on the 7th fret of my B string, the ring finger on the 9th fret and my G string and I am taking my middle finger right above my pointer on the 8th fret of my B string. I am going 8, pick my middle finger up, it is
