What is up guys, it is Darren here. Now, I will try and do some electric cover. I have been stuck on acoustic for the last week or two and I did not have any electric covers so that is what we will do tonight. This first one is requested and it is called “Summer of ‘69” by Bryan Adams. It is really an easy song to play. I have been kind of messing around with it but I have not really had the exact sound done yet but I think you guys can practice it. The beginning riff is just in the chord of D and A so take your pointer to the D and I want you to play. Put your middle finger down here on the long D if you want but that is really bad because that string is not supposed to. So go down to your G string, this is one, two, three, four string down from the top. Put your pointer finger on the second fret then you add this string up on top which is your B string and put your ring finger on the third fret so.
And I have a Line 6 Spider three amp that I use and I have all my chrome set. It just gives a little over drive up. I am not really good with a lot of distortion and some other stuff and I am sure a lot of you watching the video can give me tips. But for the D, the way it starts out, I think he plays it like he just kind of ring it. You need to set your hands on the strings so you have your D chord and you are going to play like this. So I am just playing the D, G, and B strings so that is your third string up so fourth and fifth in the second, third quarter of the bottom up so I am going all down strums. Down, mute, mute and twice down and mute and there goes two measure to the D. So it goes like this. You twist your A chord. A is where we are going to leave the pointer finger where it is in the second string or fourth string down is your pointing finger. Take your ring and put it on the B string, fourth fret. Take your middle and put it on the D string second fret.
All your fingers are on the second fret, so middle finger is on the third string down, your G string second fret. Your four strings down pointers finger on it that is your G string. This one will be your B string and that is where your ring finger is taking. You are going to play the same thing. That is actually the intro. It is mainly focused to the D so I will try and play it again. Here is the A and then after the A, the verse is actually the whole verse. It is just D to A, D to A so it is just like doing the whole like play it and then mute it twice so it is D, D, A in the intro and you play that. Then during the verses it is just D to A, D to A and then the chords is actually four chords. It is B minor. There is a little distortion after that. So go to B minor for the first chord of the chords, which here is the bar across the bottom five strings in the second fret. Just take that middle finger and put it right here on the B string next to the bottom on the third fret. Then take your ring finger and put that on the third and fourth strings out here in the D and G on the fourth fret that is your B minor. After B minor, here goes an A, which is the middle finger on the third string down, eighth string, second fret. Pointer finger at the second fret of your G string and your B string with your fist right on the top. You want your ring finger on the third fret so here is A at the second chord. Then D and back to the G. D is covered in the intro. Put your middle finger on the low E strings, third fret and then you take your pointer finger from second fret under A string. Note, two open and bottom two. Take your ring and take it out there to press.
So it is the same four chords. You have a B minor, A, D, G, B minor, A, D, G and then at the very end of the chord you just do B minor to an A. Then in the chorus, there is kind of a keyboard and it sounds like this. When you are playing out the guitar, it sounds like this. So how are you going to play this is that is really like an arpeggio to D and A, which is going to be really easy for you guys once you figured out what exactly I mean. So go back to your D and we will start with your pointer finger, four strings down from t
