Alright guys. This one tonight I am going to do is by Taylor Swift “Teardrops On My Guitar’. It is a pretty easy song to learn the tab that I am going to give you has kind of a pattern if you want to finger pick it. I am just going to teach you the intro and then how to strung the song.
Okay. You can see that my capo is on the 4th fret. That is because I am in half step tuning. So, my capo is going to be on the first fret to be standard. So it is three above standard tuning. So, I have mine on the fourth but you guys need to put yours on the third if you are at standard tuning. So make sure that you do not put it on the fourth or the sound will be a little high.
Alright. The intro sounds like this [Demonstration] alright. Now what you are going to do, I want you to take your ring finger, put it on the fourth fret above the capo on your third string down your D string. So you go down 1-2 third string down your D string. Put your ring finger four frets above the capo. Alright. Then, I want you to go to the next string above the G string and you are going to put your pointer finger on the second fret. Alright. And the way this goes, on the G string, it goes 2-0-4 on the D and then open on the G. So it goes [Demonstration]. And then, instead of just one, then the next time it goes, 2-2—it goes two picks on the G string on the second fret. [Demonstration] And do that again.
And then, you take your ring finger up at the fourth fret with the D string open. And then on the A string, you play 3-3-2. [Demonstration]
Alright. That is the intro. It is on the tab I am going to send you the link. The four chords that are made up in these are G, no finger on the lower E third fret, pointer finger on the A string, second fret on the capo. A little too open. One too above the third fret with the ring pinkie.
So, the verse is G [Demonstration] to an E minor 7. On this E minor 7, you are just going to go from here. You are going to leave your pointer finger towards that on the second fret of the A string. Bring your ring finger right down onto the D string on the second fret. So these two fingers, you do not have to remove. So you have a G [Demonstration] and then you switch to C add 9 where it is just like a G except it is down. So it is on the middle being the lower E is now on the A and so the third floor. You have your pointer finger above the A. The pointer finger is now on the D on the second fret.
[Demonstration]
And that actually—you are going to leave these two fingers here like they were. But then, you are going to go to what is called the D sus. It is going to be like a D chord. But instead of a D on the high E, it is like the second, on the sus, it is going to be on the third. So in reality, so that pinkie is on the high string third fret, your middle finger does not need to be there. So, I just go from here, G [Demonstration] and just bring this pointer down one to the G string, second fret. The ring and pinkie on the third fret are still at the B and A.
In strum that I use in the verses like [Demonstration]
Alright. It goes G, Em7, Cadd9, Bsus and then it goes “Because I bet she is beautiful” that is Em7. “I bet she is beautiful” to Cadd9. “And she’s got everything” is on G to a D [Demonstration].
And then with the chorus, it goes with the verse again, the same pattern. The chorus is G.
[Demonstration]
You will see all the chords in the tab. I think at one point, I was looking through the tab, there is an E minor. I think that is supposed to be Em7, but they just forgot. So if you see an Em, put Em7 on. It is going to be a pretty simple song for you guys to learn to play. And good luck.
