Hey guys! I will bring another really easy song. It is quite popular right now. I got a request, I got some called, “Viva la Vida” by Coldplay. The tab that I am going to give you actually has two different tabs on it. The top one is the one I am going to teach you. It is standard tuning with the capo on the first fret which I might give those on the second. All the videos I am doing tonight, my guitar is half step down tuning. So, your guitar is standard tuning, you want capo on the first fret. There is a tab at the bottom of this that is for -- if you do not have a capo, you can actually learn to play it, tune to half step down. So you guys can take a look at that and you can comment if you have any questions and basically if you run your cursor over the top of the pictures it will tell you where your fingers should go. Wherever the “x” is, on the string, it is on the second, center dashes, that means you need to have a finger on the second fret. Here is the dash on the fourth center dashes, it means you have a finger on the fourth string of the capo.
All right, so we are going to get on with this. To be a 100% honest with you, this may be the top ten easiest songs that I have taught on here so far. All you got to do is get the four chords, there is a C, all right, so, you get your ring finger here, the third fret, in your A, the middle finger, second fret on your D and then B string, first fret, pointer, it is your C, go C, to D, to G, to E Minor. So it is, “I used to rule,” C to D “the world’ Seas would rise” D, “when I gave the word” E minor, “in the morning I sleep,” C to D “alone.” “Sweep the streets,” G, “I used to own,” like that. So, the entire song, you do not even switch it up, it is just C, D, G, E Minor, C, D, G, E Minor, C, D, G, E Minor, all the way down. The only thing, there is one different part where there is a B Minor and whenever it says, “that was when I ruled the world,” that is a B Minor. So you barre second fret above the capo, then, so in mind, above the capo, the second fret. At the third fret above the capo, you put your middle finger here on the B string, third fret and then the ring and pinky on the fourth fret of your D and G, it is just B Minor, “that was when I ruled the” back to E Minor, we are all set. “That was when I ruled the world,” back to the E Minor. That is the only place that B Minor is just there and then later on when it says, “But that was when I ruled the world.” So it is just C D G E Minor, the whole song even when he is saying the whole “Oh! Oh! Oh! Part.
So, good luck with it and check out the tab below if you do not have a capo. You got to figure it out yourself. It is not too difficult but try to get some ways it is done. See you guys.
