Hello guys. It is Aaron. This song, I just got the request honestly probably 20 minutes ago. And it happen to be a really simple song, so I am still trying to get all the other songs on the request list so if I do not get to it yet and you requested it quite a bit a long time ago, I apologize right now. It is just kind of taking me a lot of time -- I have like 65 songs down on the request list and while I copy and paste them, I do not even remember which one is I did earlier or which ones that I do not have.
So, I am trying to get to all of them.
Alright, now this song is called World Spins Madly On by the Weepies and it has kind of really fast strum pattern. It is almost something like this like --
[Demo]
That is just down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down. You are going to play it a whole different but I just want to get the video I played for some, I will do it. On your capo, you are on standard tuning but your capo is on the 6th fret.
[Demo]
So, the first chord is like “Woke up and wished that I was dead,” this is G. This tab says F#/D and I think what they meant to put was D/F#. All that means is your G obviously. Take your middle finger here on the 3rd fret up from your capo on the low E. On your A string, you want to put your pointer finger on the 2nd fret, middle two open. Bottom two 3rd fret up from the capo with your ring and pinky.
[Demo]
Then you switch to the next chord. Leave your ring finger, notice the column finger here. Stick your middle finger up to the 2nd fret, high E. Pointer finger 2nd fret on your G string which is your 4th string down from the top.
1, 2, 3, 4, but your 3rd up from the bottom.
And take your thumb and put it here on the 2nd fret. So, that is --
[Demo]
And then, “with an aching in my head,” Cadd9. It is just like your G but you will move these top two fingers and move them down a string.
So, the middle finger goes to the A strings from the E and your pointer finger goes to from the A string to the D. but you keep it on the 2nd fret, pointer finger on the 3rd fret with your middle.
[Demo]
“I lay motionless in bed,” go back to the D. Without this thumb on the 2nd fret.
[Demo]
“I thought of you,” Cadd9.
[Demo]
“And where you’d gone,” G. And when it says, “Let the world,” you strum the G. “Let the world,” switch to Em.
[Demo]
We have to play that. You can either leave these two fingers here from the G on the bottom strings on. You take one off.
[Demo]
It is all up to you and you take your pointer finger from your G. Leave your pointer finger just where it was. All you do is take your middle finger and move it to the 3rd string down the 2nd wherever that pointer finger, 3rd string down from the top.
[Demo]
So, “I thought of you,” Cadd9, “where you’d gone and let the world spin madly.” Get that on with that D with your thumb on the 2nd fret.
[Demo]
And then on, finish on G. and there is kind of an interlude where it goes G.
[Demo]
I am just doing just down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down.
It kind of fast and a couple of beats in some of them. Then you go to the second verse and it is the same thing.
[Demo]
G to D, Em7 to D.
Just got a long Cadd9 “And slept through the dawn.”
In “slept right through the dawn” is your G, you go to the D. A couple of measures then “And the world,” Em7. “Spins madly,” D with your thumb on the 2nd fret here on the low E.
[Demo]
“Spins madly on,” back to the G.
The bridge. What I get this tab, it says, “his tabs a little eeky but the sounds the closest.” And this one he goes, I coupled up with the word. It is the letter I. We are getting to is “I let the day go by. I always say goodbye. I watch the stars from my window sill.”
So, where it says “I”, you kind of hold it out. You are going to play two quick chords. You are going to play B to Cadd9.
[Demo]
That is the most difficult part of the song. So, for the B, take your pointer finger and barred across this bottom 5 strings on the 2nd fret above your capo then make this little mini-barre up here on the 4th fret above your capo and you want to cover the 3rd, 4th a
