Danny Grady: Palm muting, the ubiquitous thud that you hear that let's you know of something really heavy is about to happen or it's already happening. You might already be in the midst of something super heavy happening. Usually when you hear this, something is about to go. So let's try palm muting, let's try the technique that will give us that little bit thud that's different from just hitting the open strings.
What you are going to want to do, is you are going to want to take the fleshy part of your palm and you are going to want to rest it usually the back side of it right here and rest it on the bridge where the strings come out and then let's just worry about palm muting the sixth string open. We hit the sixth string just regular by itself and then you add the palm. Now proper placement is crucial and it's different for everyone, everybody, because their hands are different. But what you are listening for is you want you to find a good mix between thud and note. If you got too much thud, you can of lose the note and it gets a little sharp. But if you don't have enough then you might as well be hitting an open string. So find that sweet spot.
Jeff Carlisi: Hi, I am Jeff Carlisi and I am back with you to take apart, hold on loosely and give you the roadmap on how the songs put together. The intro starts on the seventh fret, just basically using the one and the five, the B note and the F sharp.
